Well, an EMS driver took pics at the scene of my accident and emailed me the pics. They look a lot worse than I remember and I'm sick to my stomach and pissed off more than I was. I hope things go well when I talk to my insurance company and the lawyer tomorrow.

Carnage. Looking at the tranny case, it looks cracked.

Notice how the steering wheel is bent and pushed forward, it kept me from flying out.

Crap, I don't even want to look at it in person tomorrow.:( All I can do is hope the frame isn't bent, but this doesn't look good.

Man, I feel sick and it ain't even my car. I have been a firefighter medic for over 15 years, and I have never had to get anyone out of a restored classic. For that I am grateful. I am also grateful that you are able to post pics within 2 days of your crash, means you are ok.

Glad your OK enough to be pissed, but geez, those photos really turn your stomach.
I lost my Mom in a traffic accident, so all things considered, it turned out OK.
Make sure you post photos of the rebuild. Lots of people on here are glad your OK and are rooting for your car to get back on the road...:)

Painful to look at. :( I'm glad you're still with us though man, there's nothing in a T to protect warm squishy bodies.

That would make me sick too, but be sure to be thankful that you're still here. It can be fixed. I bet the frame is toast though.

That's actually where his car ended up. He must have cut his steering wheel at impact.

That is not that bad at all, you should have seen the S-10 Blazer I had that got totaled twice, badly. I fixed it,and sold it, truck is still driving around.

Remember a car is nothing but a bunch of parts stuck together, and its just metal...cut, and weld, cut and weld.

well I have to say. After seeing these pics. You built one hell of a car. # 1 you were in an accident in a t-bucket which you would think wouldnt be the best car of choice for your safety and your still here to talk about it and # 2 is your the car held up pretty good against a huge heavy modern car!

350/350 combo? If yes, I've got a T350 I can't seem to give away. 70's ish, works to my knowledge. If you want to pay shipping from Idaho it's yours. That might be a pain in the ass though. They're everywhere. But the offer stands. That's all I can offer aside from kind words, and yappin' won't fix your car. Let me know if you decide you want it. Hell, I'll even send you the new mount I bought for it.)

    Damn Son... That looks bad.
On the bright side, the city has deep pockets. I'm not saying you should milk the situation, but no doubt a reasonably intelligent attorney could negotiate a settlement that will make you feel one hell of a lot better about the overall situation when it's all said and done.

For now, were all just glad your ok.

Thanks for sharing the pics Fred. I read your first post and was curious about whether you have seatbelts? Just looks like if you hit much harder you might have got a close up of that cop's side window.

Glad you're OK. Make sure your settlement covers your labour as well as the parts to make it better than it was. Good luck.

  29. Ouch , that looks bad. I looked at the crash scene photo on the other thread, look at the sign in front of the cruiser on the right side. See "Police Garage Sale", they are already raising funds for you to rebuild.

I read you're other thread. Think of this way, the car looks a mess but all that bending soaked up the impact and that's why you only got a few bruises. That's the important thing, you're ok.
