At the risk of sounding like something between a love-struck school girl and a guy getting some unheard of tech award that nobody wants to hear from at the Academy Awards, heres my HAMB thanks. I want to thank ALL the HAMB'ers that made the (sometime LONG) trip to our little show. Even though we had the Bigguys show 40 minutes away and it was packed, we still had around 640 people through the gates and somewhere around 200 cars for the day. Though it was cool having the Old Timers run last year, it was kinda nice having the whole infield to spread out on. I hope everyone got to check out the museum while they were here. Naturally, thanks to all my So What buddies. My lifesavers for the show were my wife Kim, Lulabelle and his wife, Skatefink, Scott K.(I forget his HAMB name) and his wife, My buddy John, Jerry Duncan and even Johnny Longhair. These are the people that put a lot of their time and effort to make the show run VERY smoothly this year and gave me a chance to enjoy being there yesterday. I just cant kiss their collective ***es enough! I really think its amazing how many really good friends we've made because of this hot rod deal in the past few years. Oh, yeah, more thanks, to Ryan for giving me the place to meet all you people, Evel, for coming out to the show and being an instant friend, Clark for being my bestest buddy and teaching me stuff, Zombie and Rod for flying out for the show, HRLC for the chocolate chip cookie for lunch, Curt for the artwork, all the vendors for showing up, Spike for the photos, to Caffeine for striping Kim's purse, to all the douchebags (you know who you are), and finally to anyone that actually READ this rambling bit! I'm STILL worn out! It really means a lot to me and its all worth the work when someone tells me they had more fun at this show than any they have ever been to. Geez...any show? thats cool!!!

thanks for putting this show together- i went a few hundred miles out of my way on saturday to check it out, and it was worth it. great to see some of the cars in person that i've seen on the HAMB.

i took a couple rolls of B+W super 8 film of the cars running the track. it'll take a me while to get it developed and digitized, but if it comes out well, i'll send you a copy.

Thanks Larry! And thanks also to everyone who helped out or came to the show.

It's always one of the highlights of my spring and I'm glad I came despite not having Faye ready. I'll take a the Showdown over that big show down the street any day of the week.

I guess I missed meeting quite a few of you HAMBERS based on the replies, but there's always next time! And for the folks I did finally get to meet, it was wonderful that I finally got the chance.

Also, if anyone got any photos of the vendor area or overall photo of the show, maybe from the starter stand, I could really use one or two.

Larry thank you for putting together a great show, and to all of the crew that made me feel right at home, sorry I couldn't stay for Sat night camping but I didn't think I could make it another night, my head still hurts. I couldn't beleive how much the show grew in one year, I am sure next years will even be better, but I don't know how you are going to top this years.

Will do- I only had a couple rolls of film with me, so it'll be a short flick, but I tried to get shots of the "racier" cars, and I shot it on Tri-X, so it'll be gritty. It's a bit of a process to develop, splice, digitize, and edit, so I wait until I've got 6-8 rolls saved up, then do it all in a batch. When I get it done, I'll let you know.

Damn! Wish I could have made it!, but thanks to everyone for sharing pics with the Hambers that couldn't make it. Maybe next year i'll have time and extra cash to drive on up. It ****s being temporarily house poor (recently bought a house). Looks like i'll only be hittin' the Hot Rod & Custom Cookout, The Mobtown Greaseball, and the 2nd Hot Rod Jalopyrama.

Just as everyone else, thanks to you and So What. Awesome show with awesome people. The muddy roadsters got quite the reaction Sunday at Hersey. In fact, pictures were taken for Goodguys, and some other mags too. Thanks again

Larry, it's us who should be thanking YOU! Both Roadstar and I had the BEST time EVER! I can't remember the last time I laughed that loud and hard. You've done one hell of job with this "event". You've got GREAT folks attending with some of the coolest cars out there. My hats off to you and the rest of your work "crew". The Jalopy Showdown is now a must do event for me every year. THANK YOU FOR AN AWESOME WEEKEND!

Larry - Great show, I don't know when I have had such a fun time just shootin' pics and shootin' the sh*t with everyone I met.

I didn't get a chance to talk to you, but I did meet your lovely wife and talk to her for a while. Thanks for a great day.

    Larry,

If there were only one cruise/event I could go to each year, this would be IT. Perfectly laid back atmosphere everywhere on the grounds, awesome cars and lots of really nice folks just hanging out. No egos, no BS, no stress. From our point of view the show was flawless thanks, no doubt, to the long hours of planning, preparation, and execution by you, your family and the So-What gang.

Thanks again to you and your crew for taking the time to put on such a great event.

    -Bigchief.

  27. A big Thanks to you Larry as well. You worked real hard to put on a great show and it showed. And the people that helped you also did a great job.

Also thank you for letting me get as crazy as I did on the track. It was intoxicating and hard not to let it rip, and for that I owe you for life man.

I wore that mud as a badge of honor the rest of the weekend. Parked right in front of the Hilton and made sure every one knew where we got so muddy and what a good time it was.

Clark had told me of his plan to take the cars back to the GG's show all muddy and show them all off. Well I defanatly made sure that happened and used some some of the pull I have to get the cars togeather in a prime vendor area and made sure they got the attention they deserved.

Kirk and the other GG's guys took lots of pics as well as tons of other people and we made sure every one knew where the real fun was that weekend(No offence Kirk!). My only regrete was Clark not being able to make it with the new 32, But I hope we made you all proud.

I put 1200 miles on the roadster, trashed it hard, Got rained on both ways. Drove through some yellow paint that made a real big mess of the tires and one quater panel. I would have to say it was the best time I've had with the car thus far. And thats why I'm thanking you Larry!
