I was reading part 2 of the mcculloch supercharger article in street Rodder magazine...they have some very nice ideas for installing one of these blowers.. The worst part of having the blower is the fact that even with a smaller oil supply line , you loose alot of oil pressure while supplying the unit... Also when it's cold it's very easy to overflow the unit if you are running too high of rpms, leaving a mess of oil all over the Intake. So I'm going to install a sealed needle vavle inline so I can restrict it some.. it will gain me a few psi but also it will maintain the needed volume for the charger. My car run 40-50 lbs at an idle cold. But when it's at FOT, its at about 5-10 at idle. Which is normal I guess for a stock motor . Id feel better with it around 20 at idle. We will see. I'm going to fab up an oil level gauge to check the charger . Just to be safe.

Here is the fitting the recommended in the article, so I picked one up today

PROBLEM.... I drove the car for a month on a coil adapter plate and a flamethrower 12v coil with the 6v system and the car ran fantastic......

So tonight I finally get around to putting my new helmet coil rebuilt by skip......
I bolt it on with a brand spankin new condenser from bubba, along with the totally rebuilt dizzy. The damn thing will not even start !! It spits and fires and that's it !
So I rip it back off.... Throw the adapter plate and coil back on. Runs like its brand new.... How in the F#%K is this possible!? It's all new and rebuilt!

  27. luv the pics man, especially with the trains. I have very strong liking for trains especially as backdrops. Hey sometimes you gotta run what works, sucks your new rebuilt stuff isn't working though. Don't really have any advise, I'm sure you double checked your plug wire order. Could you try old dist, with new coil and condenser and or one or other, kind process of elimination, may new dist with your current condenser and coil?

WOW , what a lot of trouble.
Does it run good with the built distributor and adapter plate ??
If you want, send me the coil and i can mount it up on a distributor a test it...
no charge in the name of testing . We got to get this gremlin figured out for sure....

That little valve you got is the same damn valve I have in the line for the refrigerator water supply line. The hose between the valve and the 'frig sprung a leak last week so I tried to turn the H20 off. It could be our hard water had the seat gummed up, but I had to really crank down on that little T handle to get it to close. I was afraid I was going to snap it. So, I'm just pointing out that those little valves ain't the best in the west.
