Thanks for all of the new wallpaper! ha.

You were joking when you said you were painting it black, right? It's none of my business but I'd never change that.

Some day it will indeed go back to its real color, which is andalusite blue with black fenders .. I thought it was black.
Once you paint it , it will never be the same car , your right...

But I have put alot of hard work into this conglomeration of bolts and sheet metal. And even though it is done as of right now, some day I wanna make it look new. I'm gonna have if for the rest of my life, the body will need attention to survive .. This isn't the south were she came from. It just won't hold up to what we have. And I drive it way way more the most people so . I just wanna preserve it

Damn I just read this whole thread! What a cool car...did you get the oil leak fixed?

Pre-war flatheads don't have a rear seal IIRC, just a slinger. They work pretty good, rope seals are a PITA!

I switched from my 20-50 penzoil pure race oil back to delo 15-40 diesel oil and it leaves a quarter size spot every once in a while. It used to leave a spot the size of me..

  9. not a fan of penzoil at all, tho I never tried their "race" oil, I just don't see changing from castorol and rotella. There is a company called BradPenn, which is still making oil in PA, which is cool. Lot of folks swear by it. I emailed them a long time ago about the zinc in the oil and they were pretty responsive to my inquiries.

I run brad penn green race oil in my pulling truck engines. It's a little on the thin side for the flatty and it thins out to fast like the penzoil. I hate penzoil also but there racing oil is decent.

This frame slithered into my garage today like a snake on a hot day.

That is a long story behind the snake...

Anyways.. Could this be a future build ??? I think so....... It was a freebie!

The snake story is I was laying under the model a greasing it and out if the corner of my eye I seen something move... I turned my head to the right ad there was two 4 Ft black snakes laying together right beside me on the concrete .... I shit a brick!!! I damn near kills myself trying to get out of there.
They slithered right through the open door and were laying on the warm concrete .. I hate snakes!

Figured I better explain that one

I hope this is not the headlight you are talking about! They look like olives that the pimento fell out of.

E&J lights have there place.. They have an aerodynamic look. So that's great for a lakes race car .. That's about all they belong on in my opinion. But that's just my preference .. I think they are an amazing part of automotive engineering history.... They are rare and they are very different from the norm.. Lots of guys bash them, I think they deserve a little credit. ..

Ha ha ha, you're right! Yes, those are the lights I was referring to for the reason detailed by the OP below.
