Hi, first off I like your flathead, I am building mine like it. On the rear end spring did you have to move the spring perch in or did you have a new reversed eye main leaf made ?
Lodaddyo, I'm not sure if you're still around here, but I made a bunch of notes reading your thread. Your car is very clean and very cool. Thanks for putting together the thread. I always like to see projects in action, even years after they're finished. Feel free to show us more pictures of it out and about.
Thanks man, im still here. Since 2002. Glad this thread helped so many people. . Been enjoying the car. Really havent made any changes since i got her on the road. Id really like to get the top done that i have. Maybe one day. Other than that. I might make some small changes soon. Ill post about them when the time comes. Heres some pics of the car and my ugly mug out and about.! Texas hill country trips with my daughter Local shows Grocery go getter pro parking at lowes! Lunch dates
This is the ultimate build, Lodaddyo! I'm trying to go for the same look using a stock A chassis with reversed-eye springs. I'm currently looking at 4" drop in the rear and 3" in the front, but I don't have a body yet to tell if it sits low enough. Any idea if I'm close , or how low you are compared to a stock A chassis? Never done this before
If you are asking about a stock Model A Roadster Highboy with only reverse eye springs that is what my avatar pic is sporting.
never did like the way i had set the seat up in the roadster. I decided it needed to go farther back. Only problem was the battery was behind the seat. Relocated the battery to the trunk and moved the seat back 4 inches. I still to finish the mounts, but its way more comfortable than it was
finally got around to putting a choke cable on. Using a cable and knob for a 48 ford pickup sourced from third gen and choke bracket and ball end from stromberg97. It works perfect, makes for easier starting on those cold mornings. Also got the car cleaned up for the trip to the gathering at the roc in oklahoma
First time going to the gathering at the roc in Bartlesville, OK. I was blown away at the scenery, the people and quality cars that were there. Hats off to Brandon and crew. Definitely one of the best shows ive ever been too. Was even asked to park up at the Hop Up booth which i thought was pretty cool
