Well, it didn't start as a bobber project.. but it is now.. anyway, here's the back story and some pictures, they're a bit outdated though, I'll take some new ones soon and post them.. I just need some input though because I'm making so many changes that now I need help.

It's a '73 (maybe a 74 I don't know) CB350 Four.. Basically it was "barn fresh" and given to me for free, I've had it about a year. The pics are pretty outdated, the handlebars are different, those turn signals are gone, I'm changing the juice brakes to mechanical as well..

    Here are my biggest issues...

    1. I don't know what to do about the tail.. I put the front fender on the rear, it looks neat. I might go a little fatter w/the rear tire but not so much as to overshoot the fender if you know what I mean...

    2. The seat. I have 2 seats, but neither are a single seat. The single seats I see on bikes have a totally different frame configuration than my bike. I don't want to do a frame swap though, firstly I don't know if I can.. but anyway, I'll put a pic up here so you can see what I'm talking about.

If any of you can photoshop or give me some idears.. that would be great. here are some pics!!

make a hot cafe racer out of it, sell it and start over again. the cafe racer crowd love those cb350 4's you can probably get good money for it.

  6. Abe is right, but I like those engines, i think it needs a hard tail frame though, then its a matter of wheels tires brakes and thats about it keep it real simple and cheap.

  7. engine's too new for a bobber, either café it, or 70's digger or chopper with king'nqueen seat, torsioned springer etc...

This one (taken from another thread) looks promising.
The motor has a pleasing shape:

TinyE. Here's what I'm working on. I was going to go hardtail but Michigan roads are the shits so I'm keeping the swing arm and moving the top of the rear shock forward to drop the back end down some. I'll attach the rear fender to the swing arm so it can set just about the tire. The photo is one I phototshopped but it should look pretty close to this when done. I'm planning on making my own seat to fit the frame. I'll be running a wide white on a 16" rim in the rear and blackwall w/19" wheel up front. I'm really leaning toward ape hangers.

How could the engine be too new? I guess that eliminates a lot of Triumph and Harley bobbers then..

I'm just trying to make do with what I have, I think it'll be neat anyway... I love the pics you guys are posting, thanks for the constructive info too!! I appreciate the devils advocate too don't worry.. [IMG]

I really dig that last one, thanks for that pic...

Oh yeah Donzie.. I was goin' along those same lines too, the wide white in the rear, black wall in front.. I have an 18" in front though, I'm gonna powdercoat the back wheel all black (shiny) and keep the front chrome and see how that goez...

Juice brakes look too modern for the look I'm going for.. This is a low-buck, low-brow project w/a few chromey bits and and English flair... go figure..

It's actually pretty close to being done but.. I still need to work on stuff... and I need tires. [IMG]

I'm eliminating the discs and going drum brakes on mine, more old school.
Check this out for a rear tire. They may have more. I bought this one.

More suggestions: Hide the stock horn, get a different gas tank, change the mufflers, extend the swing arm and drop the seat down. [IMG]

Dude, i'll tell ya something those are a very rare bike & they could bring a good price on E-bay. it shouldn't be chopped up. I had a 400, 4 cyl about 25 yrs ago & it was a great bike. Sell it & buy something worth making into a bobber.
I'm working on a Amen savior frame chopper now & e just picked up a yamaha 650 motor for it.
    The 35, is a cool looking motor but it has no balls.buy a 550 or a 750 4 & you'll have something thats quick & avialable.

[/ QUOTE ] Not Fucking likely. [IMG] Much too easy for Blind people to get a licence these days. But it does look cool.
If you right click on the pic,and select "properties" you will find I stole the pic from hondachopper.com .I think they document the build up of that bike.
