If you are interested in a low dollar IFS, the '72-93 1/2 truck frame is only about 1 inch narrower then the frame you have now, easy to mate to your stock frame right under the cab. Only have to swap the cab mounts over, fab a mount for the radiator support and bumper and you now have power steering, IFS and disk brakes. I have done them on the 61-71 trucks in a long weekend, very little involved, and if you just shortened your frame, you already have the knowlage to weld up the new front clip. It also will lower the front a few inches. Check Sweptline.com for the steps for the 61-71 trucks. http://www.sweptline.com/tech/ifs1.html
ok,no pics today, but have some cool update, will some pics tommorow, low buck seat upholstery job, turned out it wasn`t the stock seat, and would not fold forward to get behind the seat, so, modifications were made, cut 5 inches out of the middle of the seat, the boy welded it back together, removed one of the bolts that hold the seat bck to the bottom and made some stops so it will fold back also had to remake new mounts as the "custom" ones were in bad shape and made the seat feel like a bus bench, then i conviinced the kid he should have some true guages and not idiot light, so, a cheap set was put in, acutally came out nice, and since we were on it, had a 20 year old cheap sunpro tach that i ran in one of my race cars for years, and it kind fits the style we`re after too, and a indy type steering wheel for good measure, coming together really good, pics tommorow, and since i already explained..... damn, almost forgot, the sarter is fixed too, pulled it out, found the rear bushing totally destroyed and a broken brush spring, afew days of looking, found brush springs and a bushing, replaced them, washed up the starter real good to remove any gunk inside it, reinstalled it, and it works like a champ, this was almost 2 weeks ago, so, guess we got that problem licked, butnext time, donno what we`ll have to do, parts may be impossible to find.....
