Kool wagon. I think this was on ebay about a year ago. I remember the pics from somewhere! Pulling off coolness in a wagon is not for the meek...
I like rare cars like that...something you don't see two of at a show. Great find, keep us posted on the progress.
Excellent memory you have there! I posted a thread about it a very long time ago, and just this past weekend it finally arrived home--I held off while the previous owner got a ***le! So not only obscure, but legal too!
All I have to say is ,GREAT SCORE. What a super rare and bad *** car. Just paint, lower, wheels .......Cruise.
I love his Edsel ! And man you are correct about the Edsel purist's out there , I wore a t-shirt of my avatar to a Edsel convention a few years ago and most of them freaked out on me , I can't wait to drive it done to a convention and mess with them , the convention is in Keizer Oregon in August this year and I hope to make it , I should have all but paint done (my buddies want me to drive it in all its patina this year). I do know some parts sources , most parts are ford so order a Kanter , Dearborn Cl***ics, and Mac's catalog's , and keep checking E-BAY my favorite vinder on E-Bay is Lilcountrygil and have always got nice parts from them (I now have there email and well pm you with it). I would put Disc brakes on it , they are fairly easy to do using late 60's early 70's mid size Ford brakes from the junk yard , cost me about $200 with new master and pads. What HambEdsel club ??? I must have been under a rock . Edsel
Edsel...Go to the top menu, just under the HAMB sign, and click on community. From the drop down menu click on social groups. Then search for the Edsel group.
now he has added a '60 Ford four door parts car, looks like the Edsel is going to the body shop before the snow flies.
'60 Edsels are cool for a Ford product, it's basically a '60 Ford dressed up to look like a '59 Pontiac, except for the rear panel.... that looks a lot like a '60 Chevy with taller taillights.
I'm late to the party, but didn't see it mentioned... To the original poster, there is a wrecking/salvage yard in Beulah, NDakota owned by Leroy Walker who has numerous Edsels. If you haven't already learned about him as a source for parts you may want check out his stuff. I can say from personal experience, he knows what his stuff is worth... Scott/Gotta56forme
agreed.... i'd call the Henry Ford Museum and talk to their experts before i did ANYTHING to this car.
