My brother and I lowered his Impala with Jamco shocks/springs... it was nice to do work on his car, it felt way better than taking it somewhere to have them do it. It was a little scary though, we were using little hand spring compressors and hand tools... Oh well, neither of us lost our hands or eyes or anything... Now he's embarr***ed that he drove it when it was 4x4 height, but it's all better now... High:
I had the same year and color! I drove that thing from Seattle to SanDiego to Santa Fe and back... now I am old and married... tell your little brother to drive the **** out of it!
Doing the work yourself,it do not get much more trad. than that. Good work. Look's much better. Better handling too. Have not used JAMCO product's, how is the ride? Had a '63 Impala Wagon in the early '80s. Handy, cool and alway's popular with the public.
This is sixocad's brother... BIG brother, actually... The handling with the Jamco shocks/springs is much better - and from where I'm sitting, I don't feel like the lowering affected the ride at all... I had a slight problem with Jamco promising the shocks and springs about a month before I actually got 'em, and I had to make some phone calls to make sure they'd actually come, but as soon as they were on the car any bad feelings I had toward Jamco went away...
So, is this why you weren't at Pavillions this week? I was hoping to meet you (and your bro) last night and check out this wagon. Bro, You need to get your own username and start spending all your time here, too!
Yeah, I know I need to get myself all registered here, but I don't have internet access at home right now (gasp!), so I only really get to use it when I come over to hang with the fam... all my money's going into the Impala and my project house (it's a 1960 model)... Nathan and I'll be workin' on the Caddy in my backyard next Saturday, so we'll (almost) definitely hit the Pavilions at some point...
Beautiful wagon, great stance. My neighbor has one of those that I lust after on a daily basis. You got nothing to worry about with the hand tool spring compressors. Try popping them out with a chain and a water pipe... now that's tough...
I got a username!! Woohooo!! Okay, so I'm the brother (and yup, that's my wagon)... and yes, I will do an intro when I get a sec... as far as flaking the roof goes, I've already talked to Donnie - if he still lived in Scottsdale, it'd be done by now!! But I'm working on it...
