Art & Inspiration My buddy's in prison......

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, Jul 10, 2009.

  1. .......and we've been writing to eachother. Me sending him pics of my cars/projects, and keeping him up to date on shit around Groucho's Performance. Well, to my surprise, this came in the mail today from him. I think it's AMAZING!!!!! I would've never guessed that he was doing this all along from those pictures

That's a terrible place to be in, but he's thinking about you and you know he has to be talking about you also to his new friends in there, no doubt braggin' on you! "I don't care what your buddy has! My buddy Grouch builds cooler hot rods!" or something else to this effect. If you haven't already, you really ought to mail him some new photos of your rides. I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

  13. I recieved some art the same way.I framed it and treasure it....Im sure you will to,guys got skills

  14. As luck would have it, I sent a set just yesterday to him. Bad thing is, he's only allowed 6 at a time

  15. I think it's worthy of making a copy and putting one in my house and one in my shop. I wonder if Kinkos does 24" x 20"?

Did he take the time to do this work before he was away or did he discover this ability while he was in there?

You might see about having a limited number of prints made and sell them, putting the proceeds in a savings account for when he gets out. Most guys don't have shit when they're released.

    Real fucking funny.

I had a lot of time on my hands before. I did the same thing. Really helps make the time easier. I don't have the excellent use of color your buddy has though. He's good.
One drawing I did is of my Brother's OT 72' Olds Omega. When you go to his house it's prominently displayed on his living room.
Thanks for writing your Buddy man. It means a lot more than you can imagine. Unless you've been locked in a pen before. Mac.

Hey Im a Corrections Officer, there is alot of talent like your friends in prison, and they have time to hone there skills. Some for Good, some for Evil. Maybe you could sell some of his pics, so that he can have some money when he gets out.

    Very nice !
That would be a great thing to do now and when he gets out .
You should tell him to keep sending you some art work , then sell it for him and put that money in a bank or someplace so he would have some good money to start with when he gets out . There are a lot of people looking for good art work to put on cars , bikes and such . He might even have enough money by then to start his own business up . People are always looking for good art work and then he won't have to go through all the bullshit of trying to get a job when he gets out . Bad enough without having a ton of strike against you .
    Just a thought !

They should do it, if not take it to a photo printer... The place I've used can make movie poster sized images, and I live in bumfuck, so.... I have a C-sized plotter at my office, if you can get a high quality scan it uses 36" wide roll paper.

How does he get him materials ? Can he get them there or are they sent to him ?
Maybe we can all pitch in and send some materials to him to help get him started ! Can we do that or what do we have to do . I am sure there are regulations on what he can and can't have .
    Let us know !
