My Bug Goes For Paint!!!

Well, after a few days of rushed wetsanding...we're starting the paint process.....

Our friend Eric is doing the painting (he's possibly the one gonna paint big Olds too....)

painted the HOK limetime green pearl today....the black goes on tomorrow, two tone.......

I don't know if it really fits an exact STYLE persay...
i want to eventually put lime green painted steelies and wide whites on it...but that won't happen until we get sommore money......
it's got some empi's on it right now....they'll work

CherryBlossom and i have been workin our arses off on this thing the past couple weeks. she's been a sandin fool and it's nice to have her out there with me gettin dirty. i think she appreciates a little more of what goes into building a car now that she's been a big part of it and i'm sure she'll appreciate the car even more now that some of here sweat is involved.

i can't wait to get the steelies and wide whites. it'll look sooo kewl!! ...we just need someone to teach CB how to drive a stick shift now. i think i heard Fab32 VOLUNTEER for that assignment!!

I'm diggin' the green.
Learnin' to drive a stick is not hard and once you get used to it, you will love it. I have never owned an automatic car.....(well actually I did own one). I once owned an '81 T-bird for about 2 months. I drove it a total of 10 feet in my driveway and then put it up on blocks and stripped it for the 302....

Stick shifts rule.

I'll be at the car show in Ypsi, the one we talked about. Why don't you come there? We can flirt with Safarinut, he's always striping there. It located in a great park, with a river running thru it and some very cool resturants within walking distance for lunch. Also, last year a large group from the show went to Bakers in Milford afterwards for their first cruzn nite of the season.

I'll post something about the show later, on it's own post, then maybe we can set up a HAMB meet and greet.

BTW, I'll show ya how to drive a stickshift.

well...
thats not gonna happen.
things were going well...until we taped off the green, sprayed the black, and took the tape off - it pulled the ENTIRE clear coat off in one great big FUCKING SHEET. Apparently HOK paint wants HOK clear......
So sunday is the day we sand down the green, respray it, and clear it all over again.....neat huh.
Regardless, it's gonna look great...I love the colors....I love the two tone....it's just gonna take a whole lotta work and a whole lotta drama to get it done. I can't express my gratitude toward Eric and Brett for all they have done, and all the time they've given up to help us with my bug.....I wish it didn't have to be so hard
