Well after getting inspired by all the wisdom that was posted in my intro post to my choice of color on my Cad I finally settled in on a color combo and got it painted this weekend. I have to say that it was a direction I wanted to go all along, but just neede the push I got from the HAMBer's. The car is a satin yellow body with a pearl white roof with metalflake overlay. Here are a couple of pictures.
Here's one of the roof. This roof really pops in the sunlight, too bad my camera doesn't do it justice. The decals are getting removed this weekend.
that looks really good. I think I remember your earlier post where you were considering flat black. . . not a joke right? It's hard to choose a good subtle color combo but you totally did it. the difference in sheen between the top and the body is really nice. It looks kustom for sure but also keeps that caddilac elegance.
[ QUOTE ] Nice! Aren't you glad you didn't go flat black? [/ QUOTE ] Very much so! I really like the way the car turned out. The satin paint has a pearl look to it in the bright sun that I think is really cool and I'm just stokked on the roof! I also have to say that I learned a lot about custom cars in the past few months on the HAMB. I've always been into drag racing and musclecars and just started getting into street rods and older style hot rods and didn't really have a clue, which is why I got blasted on my intro post, but I'm starting to understand this traditional hot rod scene and I really like it!
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuper clean. Dig it a lot. Nice work on the choices man. That yellow is timeless on a big car like that and the flake really sets it off.
WOW! Man, my bro would love that. He's got a 63 4-window sedan that he wants to jazz up and I've been thinkin' on it for ages...........at least now I've got proof that they can look DAMN good! Well done.
I was the guy that gave you some Photoshop color choices, so I'm happy to say that your car looks AWESOME. Nice choice! Now I feel like a slug. You got more work done on your car in two months than I can get done in a year.

[ QUOTE ] did you paint it yourself or have someone you know paint it? (I'm looking to paint my Impala soon) [/ QUOTE ] I had a friend in my car club paint it.

[ QUOTE ] hey where abouts in minnesota do you live looking at the sticker layout on your windows i think ive seen you before [/ QUOTE ] I live in Lakeville, a south suburb of Minneapolis. I've had the car up at North St. Paul on Friday nights a couple of times. I do the video for the MSRA Back to the 50's also and have it over at St. Paul all weekend also. Were abouts are you from?
I know we all busted your balls when you came on the board. You handled it well and now have a******in' car.

Thanks for all the kind words on the Cad. Like I said before I'm really happy with the way it turned out and without the input from this group it would have ended up a primer turd.
