Well, I was asked for the use of my car in a short film that is being shot in a movie studio here in Dallas. I took full advantage of the lighting and the set to be the nerd that I am and snap some shots. I read part of the script and it is for a dream sequence part of the film.... Should be cool when done. The first couple of shots are from behind the action so you can get a feel for the scene... dark and clean. These photos are shot in color, so you can see that we were dealing with just pure black and white settings.... I did play with them by adding some dust, grain and borders... enjoy- HC
yeah, I know.... I put 3" lowering blocks in the rear and it still is not low enough for me.... I am thinking about stacking 2" blocks on top of the 3" blocks, but I will have to re-route the exhaust or it will get crushed. I ordered the 2 1/2" front end lowering kit from Hot Rod Supply in Florida and plan on installing those this winter... just drill out 4 rivets and bolt them in.. As far as shaving the handles, I have been planning on it but am concerned about getting the re-spray to match. I actually would like to airbag the ***, but unless Monster Garage wants to donate the parts (Freebie Freebie Freebie), I can't afford it right now... Know what I mean? HC
Yeah I know! Too! My daily driver never ended up as low as i wanted..some cars take a fair bit of reworking to get 'low'... She looks awesome too!... Cheers MAIKI
Very cool - you gonna get a credit? "Automotive advisor"? Last Saturday evening, after The Drags but before hitting the Continental Club, we swung by the 'Cheer Up!' movie set in Austin. My bro's working the movie, so we piled into the Buick and drove over to check it out. I pulled the Buick up just behind camera range - we apparently turned some heads when 5 of us piled out and strolled onto the set. Got to see Tommy Lee Jones... he's a bad***.
never ben a fan of stacking blocks :S ive got 4 inch blocks on saging leafs and its photo shop low dam near. ever think about taking some leafs out and de arching the remaniners? nice pix by the way tim
BAD IDEA!!! don't stack blocks EVER!! it's not a good idea to use anything taller than a 4" block either. if something happens and you go around a corner too fast or if you go into a slide there is a good chance the blocks will tip, the u-bolts will bend or break and the rear end will slide out sideways off the blocks. it's worse on a lifted vehicle because of the higher center of gravity and the fact the springs are on top of the blocks but it's bad news either way. there is a reason stacking blocks or useing blocks over 4" is illegal in most states. just lookin out for ya man!
Nice pics! Don't blame ya for taking full advantage of those lights. What's the name of the movie? Would be cool to see it.
HK, That car sits just right man, I wouldnt lower it any more. I guess you probably know about changin the rear tires on a lowerd shoebox. Major pain in the ***! Whats the skinny on the movie? Ed Chupacabras
Here's what 4" blocks on sagging original springs looks like. She bottoms on the bumpers pretty good sometimes, I just need a little more in front. Flatheads forever!!
By the way, congrats on the movie deal. That's what it's all about, the fun stuff. Cool car and great pics, too! -- slacker Flatheads forever
What's the name of the movie. Just curious if their using our cameras out of Panavision Dallas. We do quite of bit independent movies out of our Woodland Hills office.
