No wonder, they choose u'r car. From a total ugly shitbox, to a total awesome dream machine!!!! In mx eyes u r an artist!!!! 100 points from me!!!!
That car should be a 10 in the custom car world when done. looking forward to seeing the build pictures. Jim H
Your car makes me want to go get a Kaiser now and cut it up like you did w/ your results. Great creative eye you have and the outcome. Much congrats to you. KNUX!
It's your thread, so here you go. It's owner is one cool dude too (in his mid 60's ).... has been rodding all his life.... and he just beat cancer and built a 40 Ford at the same time....for a friend.
Guess I'm more of a lurker... I've been wanting to post a build up but never seem to have time. I have also been slacking on finishing the car lately, so not much to show. I need to get on it now though, everyone knows how the car sits right now so I need to make some progress.
Thanks for the pics Searcher. That car has some nice paint on it and the owner sounds like a cool guy.
Feels good, huh? I got a small write up in October's issue. Fantastic car, Congrats! I love the fact it's not the "norm" type of kustom. That was one of the appeals of the Falcon for me. You took it a lot farther using a Kaiser. I'm really happy for you.
A friend of mine had a kaiser like yours for sale, 'cept it was a 2 door, I had about the same ideas as you, He just wanted more $ than I could afford. when I got the new hot rod i was floored. Nice Ride! what is the frame ?
I took some 54-55 Kaiser front fenders and cut them up to make the back fender openings. I've never been a fan of full skirts so I actually made the opening bigger than stock, the opposite of what most guys do. Four front fenders died to make my back wheelwells, but oh well nobody wants em anyways.
Yeah the 2 doors are pricey, that's why I bought a 4 door and converted it. The chassis is a 95 caprice police car.
The rear reminds me a lot of old 60's Jaguar cars. I can't stop looking at it. It's got that euro-italo/american feeling of some Pininifarina or Ghia bodys. Only better! Very exclusive. I also love the look at the moment, with no hubcaps, bare metal and them old front fenders. looks mean.
Congratulations! It's hard to believe you could make something so cool looking out of what it looks like in the "before" picture. You sure did a nice job on it. You're a real artist with the sheet metal!
Atta Boy!! Two of those babys in a local salvage yard here that make me crazier every time I look at em. Ass kickin build!!-Sololobo
I, too, took major notice of your car in Hot Rod. That thing just rules! (wondered if the owner was a HAMB member, now we know...) You should be very proud of what you've done with it. Congrats on the write-up in Hot Rod. Malcolm
I am suppose to be working, but just wanted to say that car rocks - love the stance along with the arched front and back windows. The Kaiser windows make that car mean looking with those cuts. nice work.
Big CONGRATS dude...! Nice concept. A TON of work.....really - I bet it was a ton....! Great Results Way Cool.
Never would have visioned one of those as a Custom! Amazing job!!! I know the guy with the pink and purple tubbed one. He's cool. How did you do the front windshield? Those are VERY rare! The guy with the tubbed one said he searched forever to find a replacement after he cracked one side.
