That body style has always been one of my favorites since my dad had one back in '60. Yours looks terrific. I love it and I know if my dad were alive he'd love it too. Keep the pix coming, can't wait to see it done.

Can you or Kirk give some specifics on what the paints were that you used for each process (base, lace, candy, clear)? Is the flake only in the base? Is the lace the same color as the candy that was used for the fades, and then later to darken the panels?

I can't get over how cool this car looks. Nice work!

Question............With all those coats, did you guys allow for the thickness of the paint in the gaps? I know the edges dont have the buildup of the laced areas but am just curious.

been wanting to push the car out side but the weather has sucked ass

 

we'llstart buffing saturday.i desided to clear the car in parts so as stuff is done they can be rubbed and also some parts have needed more clear than otheres as well ass thw sides being the ferthist behind so hopefully theres a method to the madness sure thought i was gona get buy with 2 clear seesions NO such luck!
only got one coat of clear on the hood to night (dirt)every thing was going against me well we'll have to re sand it and try again

 

i hope so been trying to stay away from the edges best i can

I was just scrolling down through the door pix, mentally preparing some smartass comments about it not being too late to give it a coat of flat black and put on some red steelies,.......when I hit that first piuc of the hood, and i yelled out WHOOOOOOAAAAAAAA then giggled like a Japanese schoolgirl wearing a tiny little schooldress in the frikkin snow
