The day after Christmas I bought a '55 Chevy 210, 265/PG, with 37k original miles from JTNOVANUT here on the HAMB. I don't usually buy cars without inspecting them, but the timing was not right, the photos looked good, and Jason talked a great game. So I bit the bullet, and sent the money. It arrived over the weekend, and turned out to be better than described. how often does that happen? Painted once, original interior, no rust / accidents, never undercoated, and red oxide primer on the bottom of the floorpans. Plans include 327, 2-4's, camel hump heads, 2 12" ram horns, Muncie 4 speed, Traction Masters, and a Sun tach on the column. Something like I might have built after graduating HS, had I had any money.
Sweet! My favorite tri-5 Chevy! I would get undercoating or paint under those floorpans as primer isn't waterproof! Great plans with the 327 swap! Again, my favorite sbc in the best tri-5...
Don't recall ever seeing a floor jack in someone's office. Damn nice '55, and it looks like it found a mighty fine home too. (Nice digs.)
I was poppin over how clean that car was in the classifieds and knew it wouldnt last long. Congrats on a great car..
curious as to what your plans are for the 265...I just bought one myself out of a 80,000 mile stocker...it's going to be mated to my '39 tranny.
For right now Larry, I'm going to keep the 265, because it belongs with the car. If I change my mind, I'll contact you. I'm going to keep the Torque Thrusts, but also have a set of steelies painted White with dog dish hub caps. The color looks like a Navajo Tan, but may have been Coral that they darkened a shade when they repainted it. I'm not a big fan of Coral, but love this color.
Very nice 55. You do not see many of them in original form anymore. Be thankful...you could have bought the 55 I started with!
