Here's a whole bunch of interesting ones I dismounted and scrapped this past summer. I don't think I saved any of these, even as rollers I don't think they were any good. Kind of a shame, but what would you do with them?
4.50/6.00 15 Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Specials. They are from the 70’s and only run on Bonneville. Been stored now for 30 years. Good for display in my opinion. They need to find a new home. PS: looks like they’re going to a new home in Minnesota!
This is a really fun thread. I watch ColdWarMotors every week and today’s episode did not show “My Classic Tire” unfortunately. But since I like Scott’s show so much I think this thread should be re-named rather than ripping off Scott’s name for his original segment...
My boss came across this one years ago in a garage being cleaned out in Mar Vista; not sure if he still has it:
These atr th M&H racemaster slicks that were on my Valiant when i got it back in '95. When we first got tha car running we used these tires for the street and drag strip. In hind sight, driving on 30 year old(at that time) slicks was kinda insane.
Hood rubber Company was making "Basketball" shoes years before they made tires. My first non-Sunday footwear other than Cowboy & irrigation boots was a pair of P-F Flyers with a Hood logo that had an arrow through the letters.
The spare tire from my '49 Packard. It is not original to the car as the rim has some curb rash, but I don't think this tire has ever been under the car.
Lousy pics but these are some of my vintage Firestones - slicks, Indy, ribbed fronts and Grooved Rears...some used, many NOS...
Scientists actually study "old air" to see how much the atmosphere has changed. Then they conclude we all need to drive cars powered by flashlight batteries.
