went and saw my dad is SASK. he had dug out his toy from when he was 16, and he swore that all it needed was a battery and it would run. He won't let me get near it because he knows I would have some chopping up plans for it. What do you think? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Looks like it's been stored very well.

He's probably right about all it needs is a battery. Model A's aren't too picky about firing up after long storage.

If the breks were good you could have a blast touring around in that even as a stocker. It'd fit right in to the Calgary Santa Clause Parade on Nov 22. So you've got a month [IMG]

Curious the fact that it has door handles agrees with '29, the tail light is a '28 drum though.

Somethin' looks unusual about the door tops. They stand well above the rear of the body. Converted Coupe?

I think we are looking at a Sport Coupe sans the top...

Nice Lookin Model A! It isn't a sport coupe, as if it was it would have doors with a complete window frame. Appears that it's a 29 Cabriolet as it has the window frame piece that runs up the windshiled post. If so, pretty rare machine! I agree with Cword, fire it up and drive it as is, some go fast goodies for the banger and maybe 16 inch wires!

He said that there used to be a top that was made of canvas and hardwood(i don't know enough to tell you the name of it) it did have the rumble seat in the back but he is unable to find it or the top.

The story goes, a friend of the family bought a farm and this car was sitting on the land next to a barn and the new owner told my dad that if he could get it running, he could take it home. He stole a book about model A's...adjusted the timing and fired it up. they drove around the owners house a few times blowing the horn just to rub it in.

apparantly they swapped the motor as well...anyone?

also, there is this copper flap tag welded to the inside of the rad...it reads 5000, any info?

I think he said he cut the window frames off unfortunately

My Dad tells me about the Model A roadster he use to have when he was young. Rumble seat w/dual side mounts. He and I both wished he'd kept that!
Neat looking car. I don't wish your dad any bad health, but how old is he. [IMG]

    love the exhaust manufold heater!
It's a rod already. Just needs a clan up and maybe a couple minor updates.

I was reading Adbusters at lunch too. Must be a sick bunch around here.

Ya, my dad is totally mot a rodder type of guy, wants it to be all original, but I am sure he has no idea how close he is to a rat rod, or even what that is!

anyone have any info on the copper tag on the rad? it says "5000"

Adbusters...hahaha, what a bunck of kooks, Don't you wear Nikes, DrJ?

Very cool car. I'd be inclined to change nothing at first. Then hop up the banger over a year or two, then lose the fenders and add juice brakes and 18 inch wires all around...maybe 17 inch.
