Some of you are so lucky to have caring fathers. I'll never know. All I can do now is be there for my sons.
My dad screwed off when I was 4. My mom worked and made all the sacrifices to raise me and my two sisters. I was fortunately able to learn enough to have a 41 year marriage and raise three kids who are totally car crazy. I envy all you guys that were fortunate enough to have all the great dads in this thread. I learned that it isn't about the hardships in life, but what a person does to recover from them. Bob
Was this one of Jerry Hallman's cars? I've found some images of Aggravation II, & if this is his, I'd love to share it with him! Without the photobucket watermark of course...
Marty, I was lucky until I tried to do aerobatics in a '53 Srude at El Mirage. Will be payig for that until I'm in a jar on the mantle.
I guess you could say my dad was “cool”. Off the top of my head, coached my little league games for 6-7 years. Took me hunting and fishing whenever he went when I was old enough. When I got my learners permit, he handed me the keys to his ‘57 Chevy PU he bought new. Ya, he did bag on me many a times, I didn’t talk back, etc. even if he was wrong, I held my tongue. I could call him at 1 am if I broke down and he was to be to work in the morning, if he had to, many a time he’d make some calls and get a trailer and come get me. Never missed a minute of work. I always just thought he was a great dad. Guess he was cool too.
