Got this done about 4 years ago. Can't post on the traditional board because I built it for comfort because I'm an old fellow. It is a 54 cab and bed with an earlier front clip. As stated, has the creature comforts of PS, PB, AC/Heat, M-II ifs and newer drive train. Engine and transmission out of a 2016 GMC truck, rearend from a Ford Explorer. Bought the cab and bedsides from a friend for a reasonable cost then searched out the rest of the sheet metal from swap meets and individual sellers. Bought new bumpers, grille, glass, and trim pieces. Bucket seats from a late model small chevy at the local Pick & Pull. Added a trailer hitch behind the license plate so I can pull my fishing boat on occasion. Plenty of power, good gas mileage and rides decent.
Nice truck! Is the tranny a 4L80E? I cannot tell in the photo. Did you have to cut the floor a lot to clear the bellhousing, or drop the drivetrain to clear the cab floor?
Todd, the transmission is a 6L80 and I did build a new transmission tunnel for clearance and used a cable for shifting.
