Yeah, I did the best with what I had to work with.

Time for an upgrade on the camera too !

I thought about taking the video with my camera, but I figured you wanted a video of your car on your camera.

Regardless, we had a blast ! Can't wait till the Thaw. Maybe we'll have something figured out by then on how to make this 4 door faster.

The 55 sounds good and that was actually the first time i have ever saw it run .I agree it just needs more torque to get it moving ,because its hooking fine now.Good luck at the Thaw .Now its time to put the Dart into hibernation for the winter ...

  6. Very nice, all Mopar, even better!

With a cage and more cam I think tens are do-able for you - Super Stock springs in the back?

No S/S springs ,cal tracs ,slappers ,pinion snubber ,nothing. Its got the stock wore out 46 yearold 6 cylinder springs under it ,along with the stock 6 cylinder torsion bars (which i backed all the way off).Agreed on the cam and roll bar ,its my next step.I talk to a guy that builds Mopar drag motors for a living from another web site regularly for tips, and he told me if i can get it to hook ,that i can expect 6 or 7 tenths of my ET with a real cam in it .I am new to these Mopars ,so i take in all the advise on them i can...

I will be when I get the rear end fixed I took it apart to change from 4.57 to 4.30 and found a piece of the rear pinion bearing suport in the bottom of the housing. I have the 4.11 in it now and may try putting the locker on that gear. It ran 12.44 spinning one wheel with 4.11's. and only ran 12.14 with the 4.57 running out of motor on the top end.I can't run faster than 11.99 down here without a roll bar.

Not to disagree with you ,but i have already dropped it over 3 consistant tenths in the 1/8,with just tweeking and 125 lbs of weight reduction(i added sum back with the steel wheels and sub connectors). It has dropped over 3 tenths in the 1/4 as well. The reason i need a bigger cam is so that i can rev it over 6100.Its falling off in the last 150 ft of the 1/4 ,which is why i have the crappy mph of 113.It wont be an over night drop into the tens sure ,but i still have another 1000 or so of stall left if i use the transbrake as well (which should drop my 60' a tenth if it will hook).Im just barely stalling it now against the footbrake at about 2500-2600.I dont expect that the cam change will yeild me 10.99 on the first pass ,but it will get me closer.I still have the weight of the side glass and regulators to trade for the 6 point bar weight .A 150 shot would proly do it now ,but i dont want to give in to temptation just yet .This Motor and Trans has been 10.05 @ 137 in an altered with the same carb ,dist, etc.Granted it was carrying less weight and had more tire ,but this 408 has almost been in the 9's with this wimp cam.It may not do tens ,but i have to have sum kind of a goal with it...

God damn man, you just don't know when to quit, do you ?

Ya know, this is just my observation, but I thought that Daniel acted very gracious about his car going faster at the Drags. He didn't walk around with his chest out and nose up in the air, he didn't brag about, or rub it in anyone's face. He was actually cool about the whole thing.

To be honest, Rusty, you just continue to make yourself look like an ass by posting this stuff.

I know Daniel and I have had some shit between us in the past, but I'm a big boy, and so is he, and we're both acting like it now. You aren't.

Don't take this post the wrong way. I like you but I am really surprised that, after all the shit you were talking before the Drags about the whole "Death of the Shocker" thing, that even after you showed up without a car to beat him you are still blowing his thread up with childish posts.

Again, this is just my take on things.

I was glad to see you kickin ass! I ain't gonna doubt you getting into the 10's with a bigger cam...and not to start too much shit, but fuck that nitrous biz all to hell. You don't need it. I think a trans brake is more respectable than nos, but I don't think you need that either (for all I know you may have a 4 speed lol). Anyway, you showed up and did it and no one can say otherwise.

Great to see you get under 11.50's, a bigger cam, stronger valve springs, a looser torque converter, and a roll cage (preferrably a chrome moly one for less weight) should get you flirting with the 10's.

BTW: if you can send me all the info that you can on the motor I can "tweek" it on my desk top dyno.

I'm sure your right 1957 gasser. No sarcasm there at all either. If I would have paid attention to the thread I would have known Shocker had a trans brake too. I think I was too tired last night to be responding to this thread. I just wanted to tell Shocker I thought he did really well at DOTD. I think the earlier posts had me all fired up lol.

  27. That's exciting... then I saw this Dart and was floored!
