    Some more work done....

I took my other engine block down to get machined. It's a virgin block, but does have some water damage in a bore and associated valves, so definitely one sleeve required. Let's see how the rest of it checks out.

The Body continues to move along. The heater is mounted, the steering column is awaiting an appropriate sized Conrod to finish off the mounting and the Battery tray is in place.

I fitted the rear Firestones so that the cycle guards can be fabricated. At least it now looks like a Hot Rod. Obviously sitting a little high in the rear at the moment, but I'll see how she looks fully loaded before I go playing around with the rear spring.

Went back and did a reread of the whole thread. What ya have to go threw to build a down under is just a kick in balls. But on the flip side your going to have a safe car. Some of the stuff on this side of the world makes just wonder what the hell where they thinking. WHAT AN ASS HAT TO THE GUY THAT SCREWED YOU ON THE MOTOR! You can only hope he gets the same many times over. Roger

Very nice detail work on the whole project! I like the firestone bias ply tires and the profile of the car in the picture taken from the rear.
    Keep up the good work!

Here is the end of year update. I have two fronts open now..... The Body Construction Front and the Engine Building front.

Body Construction Front - Steering is complete, Steering wheel fitted and Dash installed..... not much left before she comes home now.

Engine Build Front - The second Block I had ended up being No Good either. A crack between one of the Inlet & Outlet Valves was the issue .... Certainly fixable, but costly and no fix is guaranteed. So the hunt went out for another Block. Lowsquire came up with one and this one proved good.
It was cleaned, bored, surfaced and ported. Crank was linished, Flywheel had a new Ring Gear fitted, Pressure Plate was reconditioned and the Rotating assembly balanced.
It should be all buttoned up by New Year and then I'll have it run up on the Engine Dyno in the new year.
Special thanks to Flatoz, for coming through with that single Valve Guide.

Well, the loooong drawn out saga of my Engine build is nearly complete.

Here she is, all buttoned up and ready to go onto the Dyno.

She remains unpainted, as the colour of the body is still undecided.

Before anyone says it..... the top part of the intake is now sitting the right way around, since these pics were taken.

I just caught this thread and read of all your engine troubles. I only wish I could've told you sooner about the engine company in Fresno, CA. I have been to their place, just to check things out for myself, because their engines listed on EVILbay seemed to be too good of a deal. And when I was there, they did NOT have all the equipment to build an engine properly. I started asking them questions and they just dodged me, then they said they had to close up the doors and I had to leave. It's all a giant SCAM...the prices reflect that, you get LESS than what you pay for. I'm sorry that some people in my home state are so dirty and dishonest.

It's been a while since my last update, so here is what has been happening.

The car is now in my posession. A big Thanks to Wombat & Spider out at Hellbent Engineering for their fine work. Real quality work done by them.

Whilst I was waiting for the body to come home, I made the trip up to Bendigo to get my Engine. It was put on the Engine dyno and made 147hp. Thats decent for N/A Flattie.

Now that both car and Engine are home, I got to work on the full Mock-up of the car. Everything goes on the car now, then it's dissasembled and off to the painters.

    The Engine/Gearbox went in first.

Next I started on the Fuel Line and Fuel Pump mock-up.

The engine has been modified for Full Oil Flow, so I decided on locating the Remote Oil filter in a hidden position between the Gearbox and the Crossmember.

Tail lights were next. Ive decided on these 41 Poncho lights, in keeping with the Deco theme I have for the car. They were modified to fit the flat rear panel of a Deuce.

The Fuse Panel plate was made and installed, then came a rough-in of the wiring to all parts of the car.

Thanks all, I hope to really get it moving along alot quicker now.

Color choice needs to be really taken seriously now and the other thing Ive been toying with.... whether I paint the Frame Black and the body in Color.

I purchased these cool 1930's Truck Turn Signals. They ended up being a little bigger than I anticipated.

I installed them in the select position, but I feel they may be a litle big and unbalances the look of the Rear. It's a little hard to determine until Color goes on the car and its fully assembled.

So for now I'll stick with them, but may change them if they look out of place at final assembly.

As stated earlier, I had the Flathead run up on the Engine Dyno as part of its build.

In her best run she produced 147hp at 4200RPM, with 216 Ft-lb of Torque at 2500RPM.

Here are a couple of pics of the Dyno setup, along with a couple of video's of the earlier runs.
