thats the only set back to driving our cars on a daily basis. but fortunately they are repopping the parts for it in real steel. i have been hoarding parts for mine just in case some jackass hits me. that way i can have it back on the road while i wait for the insurance nazis to make up their mind on how much to pay me.

    horrible!!!

I agree, go see a doctor, and then a lawyer. I'd sue the asshole for negligence, and ring out his insurance company.

This is why I prefer tupperware on a driven car... 75 year old steel is hard to replace.

  4. Don glad you're not hurt too bad. you will be sore for a while . We got rearended about 10 years ago & peggy still hurts. I had the hood blow off in a wind storm, broke 2 of 4 latches & it flew sideways across the blacktop. On the same trip we had major rock chips from road repair in colo.. When I got home & called the insurance & they said get an appraisal. I already had a body shop est of 10,000. The appraiser came in at the same figure or within a dollars off but agreed to write it up for 10,000. I needed a complete paint job & new hood +rock damage repair By the time I got out of the body shop it 18,000. So be warned just figure double. The same goes for your personal injurys don't sign in a hurry. I know everyones said the same but it's worth repeating. he first pic is after & the 2nd one is the damaged one. They took the paint all the way down on the whole car also took it completely apart.

Don, Iam happy you were not hurt.Dont know the words to use to say how sad Iam about your car.I have spent hours driving my 40 down the road looking out the window at your car. call you tomorrow. ron

  6. JEEZUZ! I don't see you for a while and all kindsa shit happens.

Really get the old body checked out, yours as well as the cars. Ya can't be too careful.

This absolutely sucks, but you'll bounce back. Hope to see the roadster back on its feet better than ever.

    See you at Bonneville?

The Roadster can be fixed, but there's only one "Mr. Dillard". I'm glad you are ok.

My stomach just sank!! I just couldn't believe it when I saw the pics. Shocking!!! Scares me to even think about driving my '32.

I was thinking I would see that car on Cruise Night ......like so many years in the past.

Like everyone else said......I don't know how you kept your cool..

    Glad you're OK.

  9. Excellent advice, often it's long after an accident when, the aches and pains arise, please get checked out. Having been a "frequent flyer",in the accident wars,i have 1rst hand knowledge.Make sure they know it's a famous car, there's 45,000 on this site alone that would agree. They are only "original" once.

The first thing out of my mouth when I got out of the car was "you better have insurance because you are in DEEP SHIT!"

The young lady that was directly behind me stopped and gave a very good description of what happened to the police officer.

Thanks for all the support and advice. I REALLY appreciate it.

If I wake up tomorrow with the slightest pain, I'm off to the doctor. Right now I'm feeling no pain, if you know what I mean.

Rest assured that his insurance will think they have a bulldog chomping on their balls until I get what I think is right. I have no worries that he only has minimal coverage because it was a company van. I'll own that company before I let them screw me.

The police officer taking the report thanked me for keeping my cool during the whole ordeal. What was I going to do, he wouldn't let me use his gun ;) ? Besides, if the guy was dead and I was in jail, I wouldn't get to fix my roadster. You gotta keep your eyes on the big picture.

Dont sweat it its doesnt look that bad...its not good but I think with a fender, hood and frame horn you will be back on track. I own a body shop and deal with insurance co. all the time they will try to get away with telling you they will have to depriciate the value for appearance...Besure to inform them It took 75 years get that appearance and will be very expensive to put it back like it was. Dont let them do a total loss claim get your figures together and you tell them what it will cost! If you need an estimate for cost of repairs let me know I can do it from some good photos and email you an estimate. Good Luck

It's effective in June. Personally I am ok with it as I have seen some people do some stupid crap while they were distracted by their phone.

Really sucks about your car. If you can just get a lawyer now. Hopefully the whole process will go a lot quicker that way. Hope you feel ok.

They were bunch of little guys with black mustaches going to work in Santa Ana. Never stopped.

So sorry man, you have one of my all time favorite deuces. It's a good thing you didn't choke this idiot out. I'm sure he would've sued and that would've opened up a whole new can of worms. Glad you weren't hurt either.
