If they give you ANY trouble go to an attorney.....I was hoping it was just another glass car not a real 32...Make them repair it right.

Ouch! But on the bright side of things you didn't kill anybody, you didn't get hurt and the body still looks saveable, It could have been a lot worse.

I love that car, it was the first "real bitchin" car I saw early Friday morning in Austin last year for the Roundup. Got the blood flowin ya know? :)

Don, I'm really sorry to see the car hurt, and I just know you're sore today. But hopefully the insurance will settle for a fair amount and you can get the old girl on the road soon. Good luck man!

Don I am so sorry to see this post. Why do bad things happen to good people?

I am glad you weren't hurt and the car is repairable.

I will never forget racing with you and Carps out of the salt that day in the Deuces. The salt seemed neverending, like the world was standing still. Good times for sure.

  11. Man Don, so sorry to hear of the hurt to the roadster - it honestly was one of the the first cars on here to really draw my attention - that patina is going to be tough to either give up or replace. Glad to hear you're ok but definitely get checked out - you don't need long term issues and no compensation for them . . .

When your settlement is done and you send the insurance co. out looking for original parts, I'm in to help as well - I've got a few that might work for you.

    Take care,

    Steve

  12. Hey Don:
How ya feelin today? Probably need to go get yourself a massage at least, maybe a couple of em. His insurance should cover that.
On a more serious note didn't you say someday you were gonna get one of them shiney paint jobs?

    Don,

    1. Glad to hear that you are OK.

    2. Impressed that you were able to maintain your cool. No need to go to jail in addition to having a banged up car.

    3. The damage to your roadster is making me sick.

    4. To quote a bodyman friend of mine (after I had bent up my coupe a few years ago): "So let me get this straight. Nobody in the hospital, nobody in handcuffs, and no smoke. All we have is a bent up old car. No problem, that's what we do around here."

Hope the coupe is ready to drive, and that I see you soon.

A sad sight indeed but like has been stated, no one got hurt. Well, not bodily anyway.

Kudos for not going ballistic, I know that was hard to do.

If it was a company truck you are fortunate, most of the time they just want it to go away and won't give you any grief.

    Look forward to the resurection.

    Don,

Man, I'm really sorry to see the remains of the accident. Because of a recent incident, I would encourage you and any passengers to schedule a doctor's appointment for a checkup.

    Best regards, RGV

I'm glad to hear that you're ok. It sucks about your machine for sure. At least it wasn't a hit and run this time, you can make the bastard pony up and make things right.

I would of gone to jail just to brutally beat the c*ck sucker down! This is why im soo paranoid to drive anything old anywhere in So. Cal! I just hope the insurance doesnt try to give you a hard time with anything, ive had that problem before, they have no idea what these cars are worth! Man im soo sorry to see that! Best of luck!

  25. Wow, thats gotta hurt, very sorry man! A guy I know in town has some super, super nice 32 front fenders, 900.00 a piece. They are orriginal, bare metal, ready to prime/paint. Not pushing his stuff or anything, simply and FYI for ya Don if you cannot find any.

  26. HOLEY MOLEY:eek: That just turns my stomach.

Thank God you weren't on your bike!

Thank God you aren't in jail for beating the guy within an inch of his life and sticking a headlight so far up his ass, that the light would shine outta his ears!;)

That is something we all fear in the back of our minds, when we go past some Richard Noggin with a cell glued to his head.

See a Doc, retain a lawyer. Was the idiot charged? The asshole insurance company is gonna say "it's just an old car"

Can you say New Old Stock, Baby"? $$$$ Don't even blink.

  27. I agree, the moron driving the van should have gotten really hurt!

  28. I wish I knew the answer, then I'd be able to figure out how to stop it happening again.

    Me too.

Fortunately I videotaped it so none of us who were there will ever be able to forget.

I'll never forget the day me and Don strolled into a big old shed and there it was all dusty and forlon, but large as life itself and that I told Don if he didn't buy the thing I would. I'm kinda glad he did and I know he'll get it back on the road in no time at all.

  29. Don, I read your first post yesterday. And I got so pissed I couldn't add my two cents. Today, I am just as pissed for you. But more rational. Glad you are OK. Hope it all comes out right in the end. Looking at that fender makes me think of a certain red Deuce roadster that runs a red oxide front fender. You will be in good company.
