I should be a capitol offense for anyone that damages a guy's Hot Rod, and especially a Deuce. We don't need any more idiots taking them out, these old cars are hard enough keep on the road as it is. You were very lucky you weren't hurt, it could have been a lot worse. Like Bull said, he got nailed pretty hard in June and is still healing up with some permanent damage to his knee. You just never know what idiot out there has you in their sights. Good luck with the rebuild.

  3. That sure ****s! Glad you're okay. Maybe she was mesmerized by your cool looking car though as she drove by and that's what distracted her.

A long time ago I was cruising to the beach with some buddies, and a hippie in the lane next to us driving a VW bus was rubbernecking at a girl in a bikini walking down the sidewalk and when the guy in front of him hit his brakes, he plowed right into him.

So maybe that's a small consolation, that your car is so cool that people crash their cars trying to get a good look at it. Sure ****s that they crashed into you though!

Glad to see that you are ok. I know it's hard to figure why dumb****s are allowed to drive. Just remember some people can fu*kup a two car funeral.

Sorry to hear this, glad it wasnt worse. I dont even like to drive at all anymore, too much traffic for me, too many ***holes, too many cell phones, too many arrogant *****es driving their BMW's, p***ing me on the right then cutting me off. Then theres the illegals who have no insurance nor drivers license.

Ya, I reckon I know those same guys...:)

The car is at Frank's shop now, I already have an estimate for the repairs. Now I can relish in the joys of dealing with their insurance company. Oh goodie!

    Glad you are ok.

How is this for stupid, I was outside of Columbus, Ohio going to a reunion pressed for time but being careful no less when a Harley comes up beside me. I’m running 70 the highway is a nice section of 4 lane concrete fairly new. I look at the Harley I notice his right hand on his thigh, and then I notice his left hand on his left thigh, I’m thinking I have seen it all now because he had to be on cruise control with both hands off from the bars. Then to make sure I see he is riding with no hands he brings his hands behind he head and locks his fingers like the police would have you to do. He had to cruise past me at least 75 or 80 and as far as I could see he was putting on a show.

In my early days I got three broken bones riding with one hand while holding roses with the other. I had been married one month so I was still bringing flowers to the wife, I don’t ever see red roses without seeing the big dog I hit.

Thanks Scot. I don't know about the cell phone thing, but it wouldn't surprise me. As for driving the heap home, that was just necessity.

Hi Mike, good to see you the other night. It ****s about the car, but as long as you are in one piece, the car is repairable and insurance is in place then it's the best outcome.
Do you have any pics of the car? (I'm thinking before shots - I can't find any..).
    Mart.

I have 16 old cars on the road, registered and insured. Grundy, Hagerty, etc. require you to have garage space for any machines they insure. I only have a two car carport, so I'm outta luck with the collector car insurers. Full coverage through regular auto insurers is cost prohibitive and really not very effective anyway. So Im stuck with liability coverage only on my heaps. Ya, I rolls the dice and takes me chances, but it beats driving a Scion.

That's because we all can see the " Motion Picture " playing in our head as we read your discription of the accident.

Sorry to hear about you Hot Rod.

That really bites, really like that car...it could have been a lot worse for yourself.

On the way to B'ville, I think while crossing Nebraska I had a young gal p*** me with her daughter. She was speeding/slowing/swerving trying to get her cell phone camera out to snap what seemed like 10 pictures, and then had her 8-10 year old daughter screaming out the window to ask what year it was. I tried speeding up and then slowing to escape her. It was nuts. I finally had to drop way way back behind a semi. It was really strange.

  25. Glad you are OK Mike!

The rest of you (some who I know and respect) seem to be dogpiling this lady w/o knowing what happened! I have been on the other side of this dropping a left front off the side of I90 and finding the last Eastbound Bridge before I29 in a T Bone situation. I was traveling home from OCS school. Their is a reason they call them ACCIDENTS! Things happen fast at 65-75 MPH. I was lucky the lane beside me and behind was clear, I could have ****ed some folks day up.
