I am stuck...I do not know which truck I should build up first. My 52 Chevy truck or my 55 Chevy truck.
I was going to do the 52 first but then I found a picture of a 55ish Gasser truck and I want to build it up. Frame/Body wise they both need about the same work.

Here is what is motivating me into picking the 55 first.

If you had to pick which would you build?

  2. One of each! Sorry, not much help, but I will say that I prefer the Non-Gasser look. Slam it! The gasser is cool, though.

    Another vote for the '52.

I've seen that '55 probably at the same show where that picture was taken. That looks like Good Guys in Puyallip and it was there and maybe a couple other greater Seattle area shows last summer.

I want to build the 52 first as was my plan but the engine we are building is getting out of hand. What was supposed to be a 350 has turned into a 383 with hot cam, aftermarket heads, port matched intake, etc...which I think fits the gasser more.

I have a 327 that I could toss a rebuild kit on and put it in the 52 but what ever I build first is getting the 383.

The original plan was sbc for the 52 and big block buick for the 55.

Well I guess the 383 can go into the 52 just fine. It is going to be a monster of a almost daily driver though!

heh...the frame for the 52 is slammed already. I do not want two lowrider trucks. When I saw the pic of this gasser truck I was like that would be a fun vehicle to build for something to goof off in.

Plus my friend that is doing the engine work is into gassers so having him around to help would be a big pluss.

'52 all the way... the gasser idea is neat and all, but it just doesn't have 'cool' written all over it like the '52 does :)

Build what? They look done. Drive the 52 and finish the gasser with a Hilborn unit spitting out of the hood..... Give me a hell yeah!!!!

I have owned BOTH ... the 55 is roomier and will drive better ...
It is also already a open driveline vehicle ( no enclosed driveshaft ) so it is a easier build ...

    Just my nickel :)
