Got most of the paint off the rear fenders, banged alot of the dents out. Ill do some body work on them this week Just need 2 rear tires on some slots I bought and Ill be on the road while "in progress"
Scott, The mill is looking good ! Love the new fuel line. Looking forward to when you start driving it. Will it be your daily driver to work ? Dave
It will be an occasional driver to work. I will take it this week. got new rear tires so Im good to go
Hey Scott, Your Ride is looking extremely Nice...I just got started with mine..Looking forward to following your progress..Keep up the good work...Scot
Right now I,m just driving it and chasing drips. Ill get back to the"garage" this fall/winter looks like you are moving along and Healthy
I still have it but Ive been working 6 days a week. I did put it in the cl***ifieds but I will forage ahead given the time. I need a daily or a harley bagger. I have driven it a bit, a bit of a drone from the exhaust I need to extend the tail pipes, I need to do some thing with the dash and continue work on the rear fenders. Maybe posting a little will spur me to get back to it.
The posting some progress really works for me ,when I am getting burned out on the 47 every now and then!
Scott, Buddy, Glad you still have your F-1. It is a perfect truck to make a hot rod out of. There is one over in Hesperia that has been a Hot Rod since the 60's. I believe it has a hopped up Caddy mill. It is dark green and has outlined pinstriping all over the truck. It is lowered but the traditional way. Would be a nice one to clean up to where it was when he first built it. Talk to you more soon. My lady proposed to me, may be getting married in May or July. Dave and Cindy
I think if you shortened the bed between the cab and rear fenders it would make the rear look more proportioned and I would rework the front fenders at the front edge of the wheel opening closing it up some do the fenders in the red primer and drive the wheels off of it. I like the photo-shop done on it.
Hey there Scott, is there any way you can raise the back of your cab? In your pics the cab looks to be leaning back. If you can get the top line of the deck running parallel/true to the waistline accent on the door ,it'll improve the whole look IMO. It kinda looks like the truck has a kink in it ,and also make s the hood look to be running down hill a bit too much.. Other than that its lookin real good sorry to be picky.. edit, i just had the thought that maybe one of the photoshop guys could alter it for you first and see how that goes?
Agreed, I think I can Jack it up a little. I also Have to level it side to side keep being picky Lowkat, I'm continuing your Krylon rebuild tradition on a lot of this!!
Scott, you may just need new rear cab mounts. If the rubber is worn or gone you'll get both symptoms. I just checked my old Mac's Antique Auto Parts catalog and a complete cab mounting kit is $24.95. I had similar issues with my '51 F1 and planned to use one of their kits. Eli
A little more Krylon I spent alot of time removing years of paint. There is just a layer of primer and a layer of black on the hood. Im thinking of doing the gray hammered finish on the fenders. Its a 20 footer, but Im starting to like it! Replaced the 9 gallon aluminum tank with a 12 Gallon Steel tank for extra range.
stick with it, looking good. it took me 6 years to get mine done, now i drive the wheels off of it. leaving wed. to austin for the roundup!
