Hi everyone! I'm new to this board. The Governor (Quinn) of Illinois recently opened original birth certificates to adult adoptees. I was looking for my father on internet after my biological mother revealed who he is. This is the only place where SOMEONE put (RIP) by his name! I was DEVASTATED! I have prayed for this man for 50 years since wondering who he was. Yes, I said WAS as I was told by my mom that my biological parents were both killed in a car accident when I was 7. It caused a lot of depression for me not knowing about myself, my roots, my heritage, biological family, medical histories on both sides of the family when I went to a Dr. I couldn't give a medical history. I DID speak to a distant cousin and his wife of my father's and his best friend also back home. HE IS ALIVE! I presented myself on the phone as a fan as I wanted to talk to him myself and divulge the information. I'm not holding my breath things will work out to where I talk to him. Welcome to the forum. Good luck . Our oldest son divorced and his wife disappeared with their baby girl. One day after 25 years or more he got a call from a girl thinking she was his daughter. She is. She lives in Nebraska and he lives near Glasford, Illinois. They meet often and we meet her and our great granddaughter almost every summer. Never give up hope. We were from Pekin, 50 miles from you. This may be a long shot but another lead. I found the forum right here in this HAMB group also. ( Peoria Oldtimers Racing Club.)

Danica, a name would help. It is very healthy to research your heritage and also aids in peace of mind, good luck with that.
I posted this earlier on. it's still worth a shot. While looking at one of the other threads about old race cars or something I found this---- Peoria Oldtimers Racing Club.) -----It is also a thread here. I joined it and there seem to be several old time Peoria racers from the Peoria Speedway in that club. I was from Pekin. Good luck.
I did check there on Facebook and no avail! Seems EVERYONE is virtually there nowadays! He's older and probably not computer saavy! lol Thank you for the thought! Great idea we had! lol Great minds think alike!

good luck I wish you the best my dad doesn't want anything to do with me ...never has and he lives just down the street from me about 2 mins away I know how it feels to want a connection with somebody that should be automatic and they could care less, I hope your situation works out better then mine
