Looks like an old moonshine runner. When loaded the rear would sag and you were an easy to spot, crank up the turnbuckle and viola back to normal ride height.

Not speaking from experience just something I saw on TLC or History channel about moonshiners.

Garage door spring and a turnbuckle? If its an old shine runner, you may find evidence in the trunk of tabs or rails to keep crates from shifting during transport. Look close; might be a hidden compartment in the car for stashing cash or a side arm.

it's also possible it was done to keep those big tires from rubbing the fenders.

Brave statement from a Chevy man! But oh so true, a great save of two sweet rides. I am excited that brother Terry is interested in the coupe. He has been the engineer behind so many rides for the everyone else, it will be good to see a hot rod of his own come together. It was great to see all the Turds gathered at Rob's garage night, a great time for sure. ~Sololobo~

Very interesting photo of "the three thugs in the garage", ironic Jeff Patchin standing below the great Bonneville Sunset picture of his 32 Coupe that Rob won in a H.A.M.B. auction!! Other mystic things were in the air--besides that--when Gary Morris brought Rob a party gift, a pinstriped trophy bought from South Omaha Turd clubmember Terry Bergman. The pinstriped bowling pin was pinstriped by Omaha pinstriping wizard, the late Eddie Vocelka. And in attendance was the legends son Jr. who lays down some fine lines himself. Thats my story and I'm stickin to it--by the way, is that a 350? ~Sololobo~ BTT PLEASE

The first thing I thought about after seeing this was the one that drove past the T J Mugs car show in Millard,Omaha suberb, in about 86 or 87. It had a T-bucket body, flathead, same type of gas tank and more of an up-swing for the exhaust. Never did see it again. Wonder where it is now, It`d be nice to see another around the Omaha area again. Anybody remember it? Made an impression on me- I`m more of a Kustom guy.
