Took the lil car for a ride on the trailer today after picking it up from the body shop. A great way to blow the sanding dust off the chassis. Also, stopped and seen a couple friends so they could check out the new paint and body work. 1468763120370.jpg 1468763128577.jpg 1468763177694.jpg

Hopefully sooner than later. The next step is to pull the body back off and finish up some things on the chassis, have it powder coated and then hopefully assemble it for the last time. My goal is before the snow flies.

  10. I go away on vacation for a week and you got it in a car show!!! It's cool when you get to the point of some of the finishing touches. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel! You'll be driving it to the shows soon ;)

Thanks guys. It has been such a long process. It is very rewarding to be at this stage in the build. Have to finish up several things on the chassis and get it powdercoated or painted and then final assembly I hope.

Car looks great! What are you using for front turn signals? I used a couple of 3/4 inch led clearance lights but I'm not sure they are visible enough. Yours look good.
    thanks, John

They are truck or trailer marking lights. I had the holes in the fenders when I got them. Those lights fit the hole nicely.
Haven't tried them yet, hope they do the trick. Glad you like the Fiat. Still a long way to go on it, but I'm chipping away. Tom and Claudia really liked it too.

Thanks Mark. I have a lot of life issues since I started my project also. That is mainly why I have been over 10 years trying to make it happen. Glad you like how it's turning out.

Eli, Added 10 inches to the wheelbase and 8 inches to the hood length.

Yes, 90" wheelbase. I wanted to make sure I could run the car at the dragstrip. NHRA rules had a 90" minimum
wheelbase rule. After I added the length they changed the rule to 85", so I guess I've got it covered now. But, I needed the extra room to fit in the car. It allowed me to move the engine ahead and down a couple inches and as you know in topolino's every inch counts.

Messing around with some lettering designs and thought this one captured the way I feel about the Fiat most of the time. Although I love the car it has turned into a Beast of Burden with the many years of work and money. So I Thought the name might fit. I have wrestled with names since I started the build so who knows what I will settle on. Just wanted to share thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

I am partial to the Beast also. Lol
A supercharger would be cool but definitely not in the budget.
