Well Brad is making me look bad with all the work he has been doing so I had to go down to his shop Saturday night to slow him down and get some work done on my car. The back of the car needed the tail light valance completed and the trunk floor installed. Brad had some 18 gauge sheet metal he hooked me up with; it all turned out pretty good I will say. The tail lights that Josh hooked me up with look bad ***. I just wish he would come down on the price. The lights are out of a 42 olds. (I Think?) I guess it’s about time for some bondo work.
thanks for slowing me down Carl man the car looks bad *** how long will it take you to pay for the tail lights
Ha ha ha. No kidding brad. You are getting work done so Carl brings his car over there! Looks cool. Great adders
Brad you need to make it look like you can't do anything, then Carl won't bring stuff over. Looks good too.
Heck yeah, it pays off to have friends with talent, that way you can spread the work load around. Get-er Donnnnnne
So since I put on the new slicks I'm getting wheel hope that is just about to tearing the springs and rear out of the car. I picked up these ladder bars off of craigslist. I need to fab up some rearend brackets and get them installed. They are off a coil over rearend so I have a god bit of work to do. This is about the set up im looking at.
You will have to get him off the boat to get an update i know he has installed a roll bar and it looks GREAT he needs to post some pics
Dam, Work, Work, Work then Play Play Play. When is there time to just sit back and chill? Now I'm getting beat up on the HAMB. Well the fire is still burning at camp here, I did a good bit of cab support this week around the rear windows and Brad hooked me up with a roll bar out of a Jeep that he had, Scott & I cut 5" out of the center and several off the height. After I split it down the middle, I installed another pipe inside about 18" long and welded it all back together. The rear supports had to be redone, angles and shortened and then base plates made. It all came together pretty well. Now I will finish up some welding and then paint the inside. I guess the ladder bars will be next with the Steel in Motion run in SC. Time to lay down some rubber man!! Hell yeah. I'm really digging the new tail lights, I never did post a picture of them finished up so I will get that this week also.
Still moving on with the fab work and welding. Does the welding ever stop? This week I'm working on on finishing up with all the welding and patching of holes inside the car so that I can paint it and reinstall the seats. The door jams, Rocker panels and other other odds and ends are getting the treatment. should look good by the end of the weekend. My dad will be in town in a few weeks and we are going to trim out the inside with some Honduras Mahogany wood that he has in his shop. That should look cool. Got to keep some wood in the car.
Well now look what you started, The fires burning high in camp this week. I need some help tending it so we can keep it burning.
A good ending to the weekend. The body work turned out pretty good for now. It sure looks better. More body work to come but for now I have other things to do like painting the interior so I can put the seats back in. All this work ****s so its break time. lets burn some gas for a change.
