Car turned out great nice work. Bring it to Cecil county dragway so I can see it run. Gotta love that blower wine
Cecil County Dragway is where I used to race my V-Dubs back in the early 80's. Gota love those old tracks.
I know this is a stupid question but how hard is that peel n stick to pull back off! I've been wanting to run it but I know I'll be doing a little work this winter or next spring and I don't want to be stuck cutting and grinding for days!
It don't just peel back off but you could remove it with a razor s****er I had a small piece stick to the floor in my shop floor was not clean but I had to use a gasket s****er to get it up
Here we go again, I’m just glad that I didn’t wait till the car was complete till I started driving it, I would still be waiting. So I took the car deep into mountains of Burnsville North Carolina for the weekend. My dad and brother Ray helped me do some wood work on the inside, Ray and my dad did the work around the windows and I took the dash apart and made a new piece that would hold the new SW Electric Speedometer I got. It all took about 6 hrs and it was done. Just in time for that good old home cooked meal that only mom can make. String beans, ham and potatoes. Ohhhh Yeahhhh. Saturday night, Deb and I spent some time at the Town Square, It’s the hang out for teenagers, Big 4x4s and hot motorcycles seemed to be what they like in the mountains so my car stood out like a sore thumb, Even the cops were coming by to check it out. Again, the # one question is (What color you going to paint it?) One day that will be the last question. We had a great time and hope to go back again soon. I have two more pieces I want to make for the strike side of the door at the window that will look like the front side with the cured inside corners. We just didn't have the time. This is a house my Dad built in his back yard for fun then it tuned out so nice he rented it and now has some extra income. Makes for good photos also. The hose was made completly of recycled lumber he was given from old houses and bridges. The inside would blow you away. Supper nice.
Your Dad does some great work, and as the old saying goes, "the apple doesn't fall to far from the tree", nice job guys....Jim
Carl, the car is coming along well and really looks great, but you got my curiosity up, let's see some pictures of the inside of the house!
Yada Yada Yada, Hot Rod Red. You ask why hot rod red, because its a Hot Rod!!! Not sure yet, I guess time will tell but for now just gray primer. Looks more like a hot rod. Function 1st then the paint will be last.
That car needs a good shakedown run. C'mon up to the next Weekend At Jeffy's II in Milwaukee in August.
That would be a good run, It's on the books but most likely be over ruled by the boss. I think you may know who that is.
Baby **** yellow would look great. you tell everyone it's '65 Chevy ****ernut mixed with 87 camaro seafoam green.
Updates??? Dam man, I have been having fun, Not working. The only thing that I have done that is not posted is hooking up my electric SW speedometer. We converted the T-5 ****** to accept the speedo. Simple after Deb did all the home work. I will post that later. For this weekend with the weather breaking I decided to rebuild my trunk lid. The beer is cold and the weather is supper nice. Here we go.
OUCH!! You got your work cut out for you, but looking at the rest of the car I know you got it under control.
Wow that rear deck lid has some issues but I'm sure it'll look a lot different soon. Looking forward to seeing the updates. Nice job so far!
LOL I figured that was the case! Updates can come in the form of burnout videos to you know! Keep it up looking good!
Burn out Videos??? Like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0npsb4L6EYQ I hooked up a camera in my car this week. It screams ( Lets have some fun!!! ) Don't look Chopper
last night was not good. I did get some parts bent to cover my tail lights inside the trunk to keep the sockets from getting knocked out. We also bent the new section for the trunk lid. It turned out a little big but a hammer, some beating and some sawing and I got it to fit. So today I'm playing catch up. To many beers last night I guess.
