Nice. Next you'll be putting in carpet.

  8. That beats hell out of what Emeril does - and I have much respect for him.

He insists you use a top quality beer - whatever the heck that means - so I've been boiling them in the good foreign beer and drinking the Miller's.

I musta been doing it wrong....:D

black label, Milwaukee's best, old Milwaukee, stroh's, hamms... these are the beers that are best for brats... but the best way to have em is hot off the grill.

what i use for up to two dozen brats is: two beers, half of a large yellow onion sliced thin and quartered, then enough water to JUST cover the cooked brats over a low heat... just enough to keep em simmering. this works for hamburgers as well, but hotdogs turn ****ty in this brew. HOWEVER. do NOT par-boil raw brats before grilling! makes em rubbery and ****ty...

    LOL enjoy! :p

    I am using '47 cross-steer.

The wheel is kinda high, but I needed the room for my long legs when working the 3 pedals.

  19. I hesitate to mention brand names and perhaps insult someone.

Definition of quality beer: Amber colored, cold and best when free....:D

I guess they didn't like my billet stuff because my post was deleted, but the column drop really does look nice man. I have a tendency to start to work on some little aluminum part in the machine shop and the next thing I know it's three or four hours past. Even though it was all hand made stuff It's not traditional enough for the board, interesting point is that a lot of it was made on a 1920's bridgeport which is older then a lot of the cars on here. Oh welll. I was going to bring up the point that my upper radiator hose bracket ended up looking a lot like the column drop.

but,..if you read my first post,i allready excluded aluminum,...right?no worries, its just talk.i cant say that MY car doesnt have billit, cuz it has, like for instance the blower snout, the 1/2" pitch upper and lower pulleys, the pinion support for the hallibrand, the lower shafts for the hallibrand i made myself at summers for (richard) at halibrand.and if i can find a cast timing cover for the desoto hemi,i'll be converting it to fit my front dist drive ,otherwise i'll have to use a billit one.no big deal! i wont cry.

It's easy enough to disguise if you find it unsightly. :D Don't tell anyone but the distributor in my Buick is a genuine billet one.. You can't see it good since it's stuck in back of the engine where distributors belong.

If you can post something more relevant than the engine compartment of a late model Honda I promise it will not get deleted.

I posted it not because of the model but because the thread was about making your own billet stuff, that was the only reason, and i wouldn't call it late model, it's a quarter century old already. the engine design for this one actually started about 80 in another model. oh well, i very seldom post any pictures unless it relates to something in the thread. I'm not worried about it. It's too new for most people here to care about it and too old for the ricer crowd with their v-tekk and loud mufflers. I was just enjoying the discussion about making your own billet stuff. :D should have the 28 down here in a couple of years, then it will make people happy. I really enjoy these threads on making stuff yourself, I put the same time and effort into anything I build.

  28. What was Nosurf's original post about ?? Oh yeah He went to the s**** metal joint and picked up a hunk of aluminum and made a steering column drop mount for his traditional Hot-Rod !!! >>>>.

YEP!! and thats why i enjoy these threads, I get a lot of enjoyment out of going through the s**** aluminum at work and making stuff off the top of my head like this. I'm glad others do the same. fabrication isn't dead,it's just that most people don't have a clue anymore. (other then people on places like this)
