Keep the pictures and progress notes coming. There's alot of us out here that like Carson tops and have never done one. It's great to see your progress. If you need some reference, look at Tyler Durben's 50 Shoebox. He did a quality job on that carson and it looks great. Good luck...
Took the rear window out of an old roadster after we got it done figured it was wrong, like I said this is my first try..Now I know what I did wrong and the next one will FLOW...Thanks for the input I need all the help I can get... We got guys out here that know this stuff but they won't share ideas,,
This was my four door,, I guess you noticed I didn't move the posts back allowing the door to look to short...

Looks like your technique is good. Just fine tuning the lines before committing to fabric would do a lot. You could have gotten away from the 4 door look a bit by bringing the leading edge of the C pillar forward a bit and sweeping the back of it down more like a fastback. It actually has a little bustle at the back that accentuates the sedan look. Having said that, some of the coolest early Carson topped cars were 4 doors. Good job overall, I say. Pete
I disagree with the rear window being too small. I think the problem lies in the trunk panel. It's just a little flat in the trunk area. Needs a little more curve. Not knocking your ride and you're off to a good start. Best of luck to you. James
good finish but if you were to do it over again you shoulda laid the rear end of the top down lower to flow into the trunk and lean the rear glass down also woulda flowed better into the trunk area ....but the finish is super nice looking ...just my 2 cents..
Great quality of work. Does not look like a first time if you know what I mean. From a style/design point of view...I agree with the lack of flow. Still good job.
Really appreciate the comments I am learning by each comment and I will get the flow right on the next one.. I think next time I will spend more time on design.. I had to get this top done in five weeks time from scratch to finish to meet the deadline line of our Cherries Jubilee here in town..Please keep commenting , I need to know where my mistakes lie..
FNG...it is a great job for your first one! As you build cars with hardly any help it is difficult to get everything spot on. Dont beat yourself up. I guarentee that nobody just kicks ass right out of the gate. The HAMB is a great place to find tech and get alot of feedback (some wise, some wise-ass) toward your builds. Hang in there.
