Great Job on the trim work.. How are you getting the tighter radius without messing it up?

The tires and hubcaps look perfect.

The chop is perfect!

Glad you're going with a real stance too, looks so much better than laying on its rockers.

Also, going the extra mile and doing the stainless will set your car above the rest.

Cant wait to see it finished...

 

I'm using an econotig on the lowest setting and it will still blow through if you aren't REAL careful

Just a hanheld torch with MAP gas, propane would work, MAP gas is faster. Don't worry about discoloring the metal, it will buff out just fine.

I've been installing battery cables, fuel lines, plug wires, starter, distributor, coil, etc.

Nothing that reallys show, just needs to be done.

By examining my new windshield gasket, I could determine the size of my new glass.







All the glass templates, ready for the glass shop.

 

I was really pleased at how simple my door latch turned out.

Works great.

 

Next, I'm tackling the engine compartment, inner fenders, radiator core support...

 

The inner fenders will need considerable trimming.

 

The core support will need a little trimming to clear the steering box.

 

Damn you killed it on this car, good reading these past 18 pages, I need to get on mine now!

What did you use for a brake pedal and mount?

I got a Cherokee pedal/mount, but the pedal arm itself is too short to mount the booster and master as high as you have yours. To use the Cherokee pedal, the master would have to be mounted over the bead in the firewall just below where yours is mounted.

 

I used an S10 pedal assembly, and yeah I had to lengthen the pedal arm about an inch, but other than that it fits really well and ties into the bottom of the dash.

Brake lines are all plumbed.

 

For a break, I started polishing the stainless trim, it looks pretty good.

 

The steering wheel was in pretty bad shape.

There was about ten eighth inch cracks around the wheel.

Some PC7, sandpaper, and elbow grease, it looked pretty good.

 

Next up was the garnish...
