I have to say again that I loved it. We partied at the Motel and at the strip so I could be confused.:D

I understand Heads up racing. We did it in the old days in the streets. You both leave at the same time and the fastest car wins.

What I don't understand is the way the cars seamed to be grouped up. Like by sedan, coupe and not by how fast they ran. Did I miss something.

They all had a time. If you know you run a 14 and the guy beside you runs and 11s , why would you race him? why not put the 11s with the 11s and the 14s with the 14s.

I only remember one or two real close races.

Like I said it was a great time! I drove 10 hours to get there and will do it again next year.

Oh P.S. I love that 37 Chevy with the 292 six. Was that Bad or what!

The cool part of doing it like that is you can race whoever you want. If you want to blow your buddys doors off, all you have to do is line up in the stageing lanes together no matter how fast you are.

Did you race this year? If not, do it next year, you will love it.

    See ya, -Abone.

  4. I signed up for the wrong class. I guess I should have been in stock and got half tracked by every car I lined up with. That being said, I had never been on a track before but I drove there, hammered on my truck down the track and drove home. Best weekend ever!

Anyone know the technical requirements for being able to race your car at the HAMB drags?

  6. I think maybe I should have gone from Stock to Gas coupe/sedan, but where do you put an old truck? It really doesn't matter too much, my first run I got hammered by a pontiac that did 115, after that I raced the green stude pu and we were matched pretty close so that was fun. I was really just racing for myself and trying to go faster, it's fun no matter what.

  7. We dont race for a trophy, or money,,,, we race for fun!!! To have a good time,, thats it. My old car is as is from the old day's shy of a little paint. Back then it was the world's fastest car, in an 1/8th mile, in it's class,,, now you can buy a stock mustang and take it!!! BUT I drive around in mine and you follow me in the mustang and they probably wouldn't notice you behind me!! It is a group of guy's with a common interest, having the time of their life!!! Once a year!!! Hunt around and find someone running close to your speed and have a blast!!!!

How did Stewed Know I drove up in a mustang? We turned a 12 hour drive into a 9 hour drive.

I'm sure it was fun for the racers.

See Y,all at the Day of the drags. I promise not to bring the mustang.

  9. Someone said they thought they saw a car of some sort behind a HAMB Dragger,,, might have been a Mustang, might have been a Yugo,, Don't particularly remember!!!! See what I mean!!! :D
