i made the mistake of taking digital photos down to the fellow that safetied my frame after i redid somebodys mess on the steering box bracket...what a mistake....looked like **** and was not even close to a representation of my welding skills...took the car down after it was done and we had a chuckle....a picture used to worth a thousand words ...not anymore...tyake these uys word for it ...why would they do a ****ty job...have some faith
Hopefully Lance won't be too upset that I posted these pics. I went over to his shop to drink a few cold ones and help him get the engine fired in his A. He found a cracked valve in one of the heads and we weren't able to wrangle up a spare head at 10PM on a Friday night. After a few beers I tell Lance that we should at least work on one of the rides in the shop -- either his 50 Chev or the A. He says, "Well I did want to chop the top on the A." To which I respond . . . "Well I've never attempted anything like that, but we've had just enough beers to give it a shot." The pics from my camera phone tell the rest . . . awesome night . . . didn't get home until 5am, but managed to help with my first chop . . . and polish off a case of beer. Hopefully Lance will post up the rest of the pics he took before his camera died.
great fix for the cracked valve in the sb chevy motor, put that 429 ford in it or the 460 you got, top it off with a tunnel ram, Swap meet in anoka Sat. it will look great with the top chop
He is from Minnesota, it's quite possible that he DID clean the metal and then it rusted in the 5 minutes between the cleaning and welding...
nice chop, can you post some pics of the visor area from the inside as i need to see how it mounts????
Might even have the motor mounts for you, welded and painted so you wont get any **** about your welds
Lookin good, Lance. Now get her finished so we can go cut some donuts on the maiden voyage! Let me know when you're ready for some garage time. Now that I'm on my feet (somewhat), I can come over and get in your way again.
I actually have a buyer for this car. I better get it done. It will be a driver when its done. And I am living a Lie....... This is not my first hot rod any more. I bought this one off craigslist and finished it.
I bought it from a guy in farmmington with another 5 window body. He had a sedan body made into a pickup cab that was cool.
And the green car is for sale now too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=110280243400
I just started putting together my roadster. I have been colecting parts for a least 7 years now. Your are doing better than me so far. Looks like kool car in the making.. Good luck..
I looked at the ebay pics, it was his. That dash was the final detail for me. Was the truck a '29 on a seriously Z'd ch***is? He must have moved a bunch of stuff up there.
Z'd front and rear with airride in back plumbed in copper. Do you know who started building this car? according to the guy I bought it from it was'nt him.
I don't know who started the green car. The Z'd frame I started but the cab was already done when he got it.
