"Throws the proportions off? "Proportions? B***wwhhhhaahaahaaa!! This, posted on a forum where we sometimes see top chops nearly measured in FEET? Where you can see cars so low you couldn't slide a credit card under them? Cars so low and so squished they look like a building fell on them? HaHaHaHa Proportions, thats rich! But back to our regularly scheduled program. Since you asked, I don't care much for IFS but, it IS hidden some by the fenders and theres little doubt it will ride and probably handle better. I like the cab stretch. I've got a 51 F-1 and tho I'm way short of the over 6 feet tall bunch, I'd welcome a little stretch in mine. I don't think you did so bad.
Neat hot rod. As noted above, I would have made a few different decisions, but, having said that, it is handsome and serviceable. I hope you get to wear it out.
Nice work. Stretching a cab and maintaining any sense of proportion is tough to do. You did some nice work and built it the way you wanted..... Now go drive the **** out of it Rich
To answer your question, I'd say YES! Lets see, ya joined the HAMB and asked us about your ride - 2 great moves in the right direction I'd say. About the truck, I like it! I really like the idea of painting the IFS black to help hide it. Also, maybe a front bumper would be nice, and also help hide the IFS more. I'm 6'2" and am not about to ***** about a stretched cab Would look cool with a built inline Ford 6 in it tho!
I like what you have there. The proportions look fine with me. my buddies got a '33 thats chopped and we are cramped up in it on long drives. I too am not crazy about the bowtie, but it is easier to keep rolling, and cheaper too. Keep up the nice work, and don't worry too much about everybody else, its YOURS!
I think it's a great driver..as a matter of fact, I'd like to drive it...you want to trade some junk for it so you can start a new project ?...hee hee !!
Hey man, everyone else around here who are real Hot Rodders only seem to have projects, whats up with something drivable? Oh yeah, your a Yankey, you have to be different! HAHAHA!!! Looks great, call me
I read all the post on this and I wonder how many guys have running Driving hotrods, everybody says I would do this or that but how many have done it....... I think you have done a great job....I have a 33 pickup and I am 6'3" tall and its a ***** on long drives, The extended Cab on yours is fine. You have an independent front end and mine is a dropped axle.... so what.......you have a sbc and mine has a sbf.... so what...... I think yours is great....You have a built something that you like and that your going to drive.....just remember to smile everytime you get behind the wheel and fire up the motor.....Then drive the Hell out of it......
nice job so far, leave the bed open or a piece of plexigl*** in the bed, show off that work on the rear.Is it flat red primer????I like anyway dave
Lets see if you built it to please everyone on here you will have to take the fenders off,put a axle under the front, buggy rear spring, and change the engine to a flathead. If you built it to have fun you did a great job.The only suggestion i would have is a rear sway bar.The front will help but the rear will do lots more.Have fun with it and drive the wheels off it.
The truck is a tinted pIrimer they called for. But I had it at a local show and everybody loved it.So I am about to save lots of money on a shiny paint job.
Love the red PRIMER look..Only way I'd ever paint one red....I had a 32 5w cpe with Heiths (sp) stainless fron and an XKE Jag rear....It is the only Rod we ever drove a lot after we got some years on our rears..9,000 miles in one year...can't remember how many it got altogether but plenty....I moved back into the MO traditional rod theme and have a 34 2dr with "stiffs " front/back and a 32 with stiffs at both ends....Ain' no hurry on the 32 cuz the 34 rides "HERDER" than I'd like...Love U'r truck anif the boys make ya 'shamed to drive it give me a shout...I'd be right proud to call it mine...GOOD WORK !! CJ.
That is one slick looking A-bone truck .That may have been your first "rod" build but its obvious that you have been building other things before this.Hope to see you and your ride at one of the local cruises when it gets warmer. Steve (V7)
Deffinitly a good job on the porportions of the stretch of the cab. The ones where they just stretch the rear look retarded in my opnion.
