View attachment 3836919 I always liked the 50 Olds fastback. I looked at one in the 80's for $17k but passed and one in 2008 or 2009, beautiful car but under side was rusted out. Then found this, 1950 fastback with 1971 455 motor with W-30 cam. and 400 trans. Had to buy it.
It’s definitely not your fathers Oldsmobile. I like it. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Straight to the interior shop for me......too much red. I hope you are very happy with it and enjoy for a long time!
Wish I'd have seen it before you did. I would have bought it as well. I've always loved those 49-50 fast backs.
As good as they get! Normally the Olds Rocket valve covers on anything other than a 303 0r 324 are a turnoff, but on a dual quad 455 OLDS and in that car they look great! Glad you waited 30 years? KK
I've always wanted one of those. Yours is damn near perfect, although I do agree with a previous poster about too much RED upholstery. It doesn't bother me enough to even consider changing it.
SWEET, SWEET, ride! I've been lusting over them for years just haven't found one in my wheelhouse as yet! Joe
My dad bought a brand new black '49 Olds 2 door fastback that looked a lot like this one. Only problem, his was a Series 76.
Love the car. I can sure live with the red interior and the red wheels work well with it!!!! NOW, my take on the car (other than jealousy). In my part of the country (mid Indiana) a RUST FREE, black plate, 50 Olds, in that condition, is made from SOLID UNOBTAINIUM!!!! I'm certainly not asking what you paid for it---But what is it worth? I'm not sure I have enough worldly belongings to sell off to even DREAM about that beauty!! Bill
Wow, beautifully done. VERY nice. Personally, I think the red is the absolute right color for the black.
