I have a question for you all. Turn out there is more to my idle issue than the clogged idle screw. Will running straight only heads on my flatty cause it to miss and die at idle

Ok. Found another possible issue. Went for a cruise with a buddy of mine and found the accelerator pump is dripping fuel all over the intake manifold. I think they might be causing my problem

It sounds to me like your carb needs a rebuild. That's where I would start anyway. That might just fix a handful of issues that you haven't even found yet.

Do you know if there is supposed to be fuel in the hole where the accelerator pump goes?

Found out there is a leather seal at the bottom on the accelerator pump. So I ordered a new one from macs auto and should be in tomorrow. And since I was there. I got blue dots too. Hell yea. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1437094801.125580.jpg

So I'm. It 100% on what the issue what but I got a NOS rebuild kit and a few ford a root carbs from slopok last weekend and it solved all my problems with the idle. I must of had an internal leak that was flooding the motor. Tonight I took the car to the brauerhouse cruise night and i had real confidence when coming to a stop. No more left foot braking for me ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1438320581.943491.jpg

Sweet! That's great to hear. You're making me jealous though, I'm still at least 2 years away from driving mine to the end of the driveway....

Thanks! Most of the thanks goes to cmarcus for introducing me to slopok.

What burb are you in? I'm in Oswego, you must be fairly close if you're hitting the Yorkville show.

Youre on track with a carb rebuild, check your fuel line routing as well, make sure you don't have hot spots causing vapor lock, keep it away from exhaust manifolds etc.

Nothing since I locked it up for storage. All my time has been going to my buddy's 56 Pontiac. But the 52 starts progress again in April.
