Whats up Ian I just wanted to let you know this thread has been a huge inspiration to me as well as educational. A good friend recently told me about the HAMB and this is exactly what i needed to see. I am impressed by your work and appreciate the fact you took time out to post it on here. That shoe box is a sexy biotch.

QUOTE...I'm glad you like it and it can help you or motivate you !!! :)

I'm chopping a '56 Chevy4Dr. By chance, have you found a donor car with curved rear glass? I’m sure on your project, you looked at many options and if you have any thoughts on how I could put curved rear glass (other than Lexan) on my ’56 Chevy, would be appreciated.
On another note, where are you putting the master cylinder? I would like to put mine under the dash (like a 90 degree mounted on a Van) or under the car (framed mounted) but, I’m unsure of the best way to hide it. Also, I’m thinking about putting the Battery under the rear seat, keeping Engine Compartment & Trunk looking clean.
Another thought, I would like to hide the Wipers (electric wiper motor & wiper crank assembly) somehow in/under the fresh air cowl so that they work but are hidden, keeping the Engine Compartment clean.

    Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks and I look forward to hearing your thoughts,
    56Chevy4Dr

Thanx man!!!:) They do look good with a haircut!!

I wish i could help you with the 56' but i honestly don't know much about the shape of the rear window. You should start a thread and ask what people have done with their 56'. The Master cylinder on my 51' chevy is on the firewall , nothing out of the usual. Good luck with your build and especially with the chop!!! I'm sure it's not gonna be a simple thing!!

    Thanx man!!!

Anytime you put yourself a little in the public eye, you get hate emails from all kinds of wackos. Just part of the computer age.
    Don't sweat the crazies.
Your friends that really know you are all that really matter.
I am going to try to stop by and see you and your car next month.

  12. This is an old thread, but it's a good one. I'm working on chopping new doors for my already chopped (not by me) shoebox and this thread answered a bunch of questions for me. Thanks for the detailed info and pics. Awesome work.

Beautifull work on the Shoebox, Ian. Nice and clean and it flows supernatural. Next time you can lose the b pillars and hardtop it, lol

  19. Mate, that is one killer chop.
You should be justifiably proud of what you've achieved.
You are so lucky to have a friend like Omar who puts faith in your work.
I only wish people would let me have my way with the metalwork on their cars like Omar has done with you.
I'm yet to do a chop on a car but...........I have a new project on the horizon so, you just never know :) :)
