My first trucks!

    Hello its my first post im 16 and the black 62 step side is my first truck. Im the second owner. its got the orginal 235 6 with three speed in the floor i drive the heck out of it! (with a cracked block):(!!!! i just bought a 60 3/4 ton long bed for $300 off of craigslist. its got a better body than the one im driveing daily. it has a 61 grill and a hood of of a 62-66. its got a 70s 305 with 283 heads. and air conditioning! I drug it in the garage, cleaned the plugs put in a new battery, and some gas in the carb and it fired up! the tank is full of rust so i took it out. i need to clean it or get another one. its got 3 on the tree with overdrive. the overdrive is a knob on a dash that you pull out can someone tell me how this works? i dont know if i should keep the ac or sell it. i can't wate to get it on the road!

    GOOD luck with the project. i had a 58 Cameo long time ago.

    flat black and a red pen stripe.

    If the air conditioning is an aftermarket setup, I'd just keep it, you won't get much for it and may as well use it. If it's a factory unit, or even a GM accessory thing that you could buy over the parts counter, then I'd sell it because you'll get a lot of money for it, that type of stuff is gold.

    I love the 60-61 hoods, I don't know why everyone swaps them off for the later hoods, in fact I put a '61 hood on my '66 Suburban because I liked it so much. Good score on the '60, I would have been all over that too.

    Yea i love those cat eye hoods! I might swap it some time.

    Keep the A/C. they are actually fairly easy to work on and no matter what anyone says its nice to have in the car weather for summer or during winter it should cycle on when you have the defroster on to help dry out the cab
