My son is home for the holidays and that means he and I will be spending some time in my shop working on something! But I had no extra room so I had to back my sedan outside for about 5 hours. I didnt mind and it gave me the opportunity to shoot a cool picture of it in the snow.
Thanks Stu, I hope you are right. I feel blessed to have this car and am trying to "fix" a few things that are needed but retain the original theme of the car. I rewired it entirely and have a new 355 SB ready to drop in soon. The current engine runs great but is a "leaker" and I want a little more cam-thump.
Looks cool, get it.......looks cool ??!! Sorry, I'm still a little punchy from all the sugar in those Christmas cookies. Lets make the pic a little bigger.
Didn't realize that was Vern's ole 40. Spent alot of good times with Vern over the years. 1 hell of a GENTLEman.
..And is if black cars were not difficult enough to shoot in a show, they are even more difficult to shoot at night in the .... (Sorry, still coming down from the sugar high..) Great flame job...
I love the photo of the forty sedan in the snow. I don't think Vern every drove it in the snow but I am not sure as he drove it everywhere. There used to be 3 flamed sedans running around LA for many years and they were the top bananas of 40 sedans. Glad to hear you are keeping it fresh.
Vern as in Vern Williams A 40 guy to the bone, also just a real great car guy Knew Vern in So Cal 4 years, back in the day of the 40's Limited, then when he moved tp Prescott Az we rekindled our long friendship. And yes he drove it in the snow many times to come up to my shop in Prescott. Really miss ya Vern, and all yer 1 liners.
Vern was one of my closest friends in So Cal for over 25 years, we both had (still have mine) similar black, flamed, Martinez interior, 40 deluxe tudors. Have a lot of great memories with Vern (Bonneville, El Mirage, LA Roadster Shows- in his 32 tub, 40 Ford Days, etc. etc.). He and Dottie moved to Prescott, Az and formed the Mountain Top Street Rod club. Everyone liked Vern, lost him way too soon in 2008. His "secret" nickname was "Slick Ernshit"
