just put the finishing touches on the rewiring of my shoebox which brings an end to the winter-long work extravaganza. here's what i did.... -converted from a column to floor shift and fabricated new trans tunnel. -new carpet. -made new door pads. -shaved handles, gas door, decklid, and antenna as well as a decent amount of rust repair. -new gas tank and electric fuel pump. -paint. -new electrical using an ezwiring harness...including turn signals, new gauges, and tach. i'm just happy as hell to be done. this is my first old car and i've had it just over a year. it's nice to know i didn't fu*k it up too bad. can't wait to start on the next project and drive the hell out of this this year. thanks to all of you on here for the help, encouragement, and a place to vent! here's a couple pics.
hack--well it's as done as it's gonna get till something breaks and i have to fix it.... it's hard to tell by my*****py digital pics but the color is charcoal grey, silver flake scallops, and red striping. looks much better in person.(atleast i think so!) i think i'll go have a beer to celebrate my victory!!!!
Very kool, Kritz! The ride looks good. Nice rake and I really like the design of the scallops. Congraulations! Joel
That's one sweet looking ride. Congratulations on all of the completed modifications. Now, have a great summer driving the wheels off it. Frank
thank you to all...i still can't believe that all my hard work, busted knuckles, thrown tools and anticipation have finally paid off. the only part of the scallop job i can take credit for is the roof, hood, and decklid. the sides were laid out by my buddy eric (of big olds primering fame) it absolutely blew my mind when i walked into the garage and saw one side of the car laid out with those scallops. wildwilly-this was literally the first thing i've wired aside from a home stereo and it really wasn't too difficult. although i have a feeling that the next time will be 100 times easier. thanks to HANKCASH for helping me get the headlight switch figgered out.(the only REAL headache of the wiring) and HOTRODTOHELL for putting up with all my neurotic wiring questions. now the only thing left to do with the car is to see how many shows i can get to.
ROCKSTAR! Those things that you did last winter are the things I have to do next winter! Great job! Mike
Very nice. And all this time, I thought all you worked on was tool boxes(FAB32) , Big Olds, and And ol Ford coupe(Donzie's) Jim

That thing*****s! Really, the pics do not do it justice, it looks killer in person, and the scallops are awesome! -Joe
Looking SWEET Kritz!!!! .....all your hard work has really come together to produce one smooth ride.....can't wait to see it in real time and if lucky maybe you can take me for a boot in it!
Awesome! Looks good! Now all we gotta do is put some power in it! That lawnmower engine, or flathead, or whatever it is just won't cut it!!!! Congrats Kritz! I might even consider you a "car guy" now!

[/ QUOTE ] Have a Cognac instead and I'll celebrate with ya. Looks good, wouldn't worry about the pic quality, drive it and we'll all have a chance to see it in person somewhere, some time.
Man, that is way cool! Looking forward to seeing it up close and personal. And thanks again for the work on my coupe.
[ QUOTE ] Looks good! (for a quatroporte), but done? When ya gonna lower it? [/ QUOTE ] Tell ya what DrJ, come drive around Flint for a while and tell me how much you like a lowered car! I bet we could get some sort of an award for the worst roads in the country!
