I hope g***ers are "out" again when mines done. That way i can be a punk about it ... I just love late 60's style street cars. even when i was real young at car shows something about the rumpity pissed off cars, with the little cool tanks you fill up alot... just killed me. Some guy saw mine and said "Ohhh another g***er clone". I figured he was an idiot, cause cut quater panels don't equall a g***er.....But i kindly explained that its been like that scince the 70's It was cut up when i bought it (Quarters radiused), Flat black with chrome reverse's on it and keystones up front. That why I BOUGHT IT, Looked KILLER to me all beat up and needing love. I saw that and said to myself Holly ****! thats what i would do! and fu*k...I can actually afford it!!! I'm keeping it that way, even if everyone builds a g***er outta 55's and 10 magazines called "Tri-five g***er monthly" start up. Do what you want. My buddie would like to put 17in wheels on it and slam it with a buncha wham bam bling stuff. NOT FOR ME. this post went nowhere. but I agree i dont like the generalizations (Or my spelling). Sounds like you only have three option's, restored, mild custom or Good Guy's/NSRA big wheeled POS. I'd go the mild custom route myself.

Sayin there's too many 55 Chevy g***ers is like sayin there's too many Model A hotrods or Merc customs. I liked the 55 g***er look so much I built a Pontiac version out of my Chieftain.
This has been around since the birth of hot rodding, it's not just 55's, it's not just the g***er look, it that a lot of people think that they know better than you what you should build, so when I built my first roadster, I ran fenders (WHAT, you can't run fenders!!!), and a single 4-barrel (WHAT, no 3 deuces???!!!) Earlier than this, imagine the guy who ran something other than '39 tails on his roadster, or... What makes us hot rodders and customizers is that we blow off these know-it-all *******s who would tell us how to do it, AND WE DO IT OUR WAY. So make your 55 what you want it to be and ignore the guys who never have to turn a wrench, it's your car!!

ok str axle &coil springs on my g***er built in 65-67 was just copying what i saw on the track...... suspension was a chuck finders idea to test it and see if it worked >has since 1966...........

If you wanna be different, re-stamp the VIN on it, put some Maltesse crosses on it, put a Hot-Heads oil pump in it. Then, push it off a cliff. I started to build my g***er almost 2 years ago. I think by the time its finished g***ers will be put back into barns!.......I'm putting it back to original starting tomorrow!...... Any inner fenders for sale?
Its just like how every bike with an extended front end gets called a "chopper" when in fact most are nowhere near a true chopper. The pistol whip thing is a movie reference from Super Troopers.
there was a 2 lane black top styled 55 for sale in the cl***ifieds for a lil bit,,,like i said "styled",,,but cooler at the same time,, i think it was from teijas,,but couldnt find the thread,,,,i love it,,,
