  5. Mister hudsonmand nice post, Cool story ,cool bird then and now! I like that you sent a recent photo. My challenge to everyone ,is to do the same ! I realized I have no NOW photo of my wife {SWEET HEART} of 40 years! Have lots of pictures of the grandkids, hot rods, garage toys etc. but not of her. Also the KOOL then and now PHOTOS from JOLITE JAKE . I think its neat that so many kept their cars and some their sweet heart! I will try to take a photo of them both for Valentine's and post them here. Some of you please try and do the same. THANKS !!!

I went to my 50th high school reunion a few years ago. Though some held up better than others we all looked better in the old photos. Some of the cars did amazingly well. :)

Gary, like Verde said, a reference to the ideal woman being about 4 feet tall with a flathead that you can rest your drink on while...uh, never mind.

If you put a chin strap on one of those magnetic parts holders and put your drink in a metal cup you can make a perfect girl out of any 4' girl. You just need to make sure they understand that the new hat is just a loaner.

Too funny!....I can just see it now, handing my dear wife, a fine looking chrome 'flat hat' parts bowl with an adjustable chin strap, smiling at her with a nod... drink in my hand, leaning against my car with no place to put it.... I'd be sleeping in the garage for a year I do declare, and eating out of paper bags if I was ''lucky''! She's already leery of me when I mention ''come here a second'' and needing help as it is....like the idea though:p:D......maybe, I better just stick with my own hardhat with the double drink dispenser around the headband...and not mention this!--- Ray

    Just curious.
On the other pics you posted, your run a dropped and filled I beam.
But in this pic you run a dropped tube axle with no hood and roof, but damn it that's a tire size I like.

Is there a pic of it with roof, hood, tube axle and the narrow wheels.

    I really like your car!

  20. Frist notice that my wife looks embarrassed to stand beside this Heap. LOL Long story short I got this little coupe from a farmer for $100 in 1978, got it on the road on the CHEAP as this photo. The tires are dirt tracks, that I had recapped with street tread, 16 by 8 Halibrand wheels. It had the A frame tubed axle no hood roof etc. Fast forward a few years and two chevy Mills later She got the 389 Pontiac home built frame with dropped and drilled axle.Changed her name from Rust and Things to the U.F.O. a name a little old lady gave it one night when I pulled into a Mc donalds . She ask what it was? I told her a 29 Ford. She said I thought it was a U.F.O. landing. I thought that it was funny, told her it had a new name. Then went to D.M.V. and got the LO UFO tags. here's a photo of the deck lid when it was the Rust and Things and NO NOT A RAT just a beater and a kid with no money. ha ha 096.jpg 026.jpg 099.jpg

CAUTION: Did you know the magnet is only glued on those parts trays? When it hit the wall slightly above my head this morning the magnet came off. The buckle end of the chin strap almost took out my good eye. There will be no picture of my High School Sweetheart/Valentine wearing the Maghat and I'll still be drinking from the bottle alone.:(

You are a lucky man. Not to say you have not earned it but fortunate just the same.

Ron .... what size are the Fat rear tires on your Coupe? I love 'em

    Glenn

  30. They are size awesome! I've been dreaming about Ron's coupe since the mid 90's. It was the first car I ever saw with real dirt trackers on it.
