My Images from the pleasantly kool 2013 KKOA Leadsled Spectacular

Hi everyone. Here is the start of my KKOA images from this years remarkable event in Salina. For once the weather was enjoyable instead of oppressive and there were more cars than ever. It was great catching up with friends and seeing all the cool cars. As always, it will take some time before this is complete, so please subscribe to this thread and check back from time to time.

It was great seeing you and Claricia again too. I was just looking at photos of your Camaro and reading about it - AWESOME! I hope I get to see it some day.

Brother Dan, I watched for you on Sat. my only day there this year, but no luck. Awesome images as always. Such a great year with the weather advantage, great shots as always my friend. ~sololobo~

Here is a 1936 Olds that despite its mild mannered, almost stock appearance, was all modern, high tech super fast Chevy LS ( with a blower if I remember correctly) under the hood. I was surprised when I saw how fast it was at the Run What Ya Brung Drags. Definitely one of my favorite cars there this year and the one I would probably take if I could choose just one, although that is really an insanely impossible choice.

 

Hi Larry - I wished I had seen you as well. The show was definitely more well attended this year.

 

As always, Dan your photos are great. Wish I could have been there but I had more pressing issues. Maybe next year.

I'm no expert by any means Dan, but your photography skills are nothing short of amazing. You could prolly even make my car look good (might be a stretch). Very impressive, sir!

Here is a group of cars from the Boulder Timing Association - a group that has been around a long time and are from Colorado. Until I met them when taking this shot, I had never heard of them.

Unlike practically every other image I post, this one had to have very little clean up done - there was not a chair, awning, person, part of another car or anything else to compromise the view. A miracle!

Hey Dan, it was good to see you again- much better weather than StrayKats.
I was going to tag along with you when I ran into you with Brian and Neal (neals49), but we got to talking with your friend from California, you scooted off, and I never saw you again. Like Mick said, to keep up with you takes training.
I can't recall the details on the car your friend drove, but it was killer. Could you show a picture and give a little background on the car? I loved that engine. He was a super nice fellow - I admire the fact he drove all that way to the show, and did I say his car was cool? By the way, I took a picture over by Jay Sweet's(no surf ) booth that had Jay, Travis Scanlon, Ryno, and what I thought was Paul Kruse(poverty flats) in it, but turns out it was Sean Whitley the Farmtruck racer and his buddy AZN. He doesn't look like Paul, but those beat up old hats could be twins!
