That truck was AWESOME!! I didn't see it at the show, but our hotel Sunday morning! Heck, I don't think I saw even half of the cars!! LoL!

Thanks for the great shot of dads 51 Vicky. We haven`t missed the show in Salina yet. Great coverage as always.

I agree, Jimmy on all of that. That truck was pretty elusive, especially as far as getting it in a place where I could get a halfway decent shot at it. It was definitely in my top 5 or 10 for the show. There were cars I saw at the hotel and registration hotel that I never saw again. One really cool looking 37 Ford - blue with flames comes to mind.

You're welcome Stanlow69. Your Dad's Vicky totally rocks!

Thanks mr57 and John. It was great seeing you too, John.

Anyone know for sure what year this shoebox is? I know it is a 49-51, most likely 49 or 50, but it had a custom front end and I forgot to shoot the tag.

I love the '36 Olds coupe. I really like late '36/'37/'38 GM coupes anyway, but a stock-looking creampuff like that with wide whites and a badass drivetrain?...oh yes. I imagine one with original-style mohair, woodgrain, steering wheel and everything...and the stock shifter lever and knob hooked to a 5spd. Even an old aftermarket interior fan...lol. The best of both worlds. Kind of a gentleman's hot rod. I wanna build one. Might even forget about building a model A roadster or coupe just to do this. Thanks for the pics.

You're welcome Rickybop and thanks for checking out my pictures. That 36 Olds was definitely something I would love to own - just as it is. I will check and see if I took an interior shot.

This 40 Merc was one of the more radical customs there.

The car's a '50 - you can tell by the fuel door (vs. an exposed cap on a '49) , and that style exposed trunk hinge is a '50 (a '51 had hidden hinges) .

Thanks again Allen (Buddy Palumbo). It is really handy to have found a shoebox expert. Thank you too Dr. Dave. I will be in touch about your Merc pic from Stray Kats.

Here is a fantastic Deuce roadster outside of Bright Built Hot Rods.
