I'm not on commission here or anything like that but check it out on his website at www.topnotchvehicles.com or send him (Bobwop) a PM.

Dammit Paul, Dad has enough Chevy's... why didn't you convince him to bring home a Ford? My Galaxie needs a friend!
Sooooo 454 huh?..... Think there's any chance we can have this thing here in time for the KKOA? If it's at all quick I'll drive it in the drags :)

I made it up friday evening and tried to see it on saturday. Wanted to meet up with povertyflats but did not find him. I did see the A in the car corral friday nite. I finally got to meet squawblow while down at cliffys. Almost walked into pbrmeasp down that way too. Talked to krooser for a lil bit. And noticed lukester was still around too. I think johnnycola was the only one I seen carrying around that much stuff all weekend. I have a feelin sales were down this year for a lot of vendors.
Well I scored 6x2 olds intake (lol), started switch for my A motor, one dodge hubcap I needed to make a set, 2 16" steel rims, cheap car books, 4 hubcap rings. Thought real hard about a Model T roadster and then found a 58 F100 right before I left, but the owner was not there. Got a number for it, so we will see. Also met and talked to kb cookout before I left for home.

Yup used to live about 25 miles Norh of there and attended it every year. Its really a great show and takes all 3 days to see. I could usually score some pretty good deals towards the last day. And we usually had at least one day of rain too.

  8. I am bummed I didn't get to hang wit ya. I did get to meet a few others that I haven't yet which was nice. It was excellent to meet BobWop and PBRme and it is always good to see the rest of my friends!!!

I am just getting rested from the trip home. I crashed about 7pm tonight...now I can't sleep!! DAMNIT!!! I may take the day off tomorrow to work on show stuff and recover.

Yeah, friend of mine from way back had a pro street 1960 GMC pickup in the car corral. His was just as nice as this one and twice the price. He was discouraged about the price this one brought...not good for his sale!! That red truck was a steal!

I had the worst year I have ever had up there....by a LOT. Sold about $700 and not one large item. I didn't even get ONE offer on my RUNNING 1953 Desoto 2dr Firedome. Lots of serious people on my other two vehicles but no offers either. Nobody seemed to be buying much of anything. Attendance was surely down considerably. Lots of people walking down the isles with their heads straight ahead, not even looking as swap spaces. Not a good sign. I had a significant lower volume of lowballers as well. I don't think I had more than 5 or 6 people even lowball me on stuff the whole weekend.

On the good side, we had a LOT of people talking Symco Shakedown. I took in a few more registrations. I also drank a considerable amount of beer!!

The band on Sat night near gate 7 KICKED ASS!!! Cops shut is down hard at 10:30. I guess somebody pissed on a tent or something. Oh well, we had 4 hours of music before that happened. Next year will be bigger and badder!! Free food and booze was really nice...cold and yummy. Thanks Andy's Towing!!

IS there anything better than a good swap meet ? All the years I lived in IL and went to Jefferson religiously, I never made it to Iola. Think I'll make it next summers vacation.
