It was my first time attending this meet and something I had wanted to do for a long time so me and my favorite swap meet partner (brother in law Lawrence) and my pal Larry (who I sold the Peter Beater T bucket too) took a 700 mile drive to go see what it was all about. Friday was good and we were there all day. Decent weather and lots and lots of stuff to look at. Not thew kind of stuff I usually buy and most was too new for me. But lots of volume. And I must say the prices were higher than I am used to as well. But had a great time. We were house guests of Bobwop of Top Notch Vehicles and his beautiful girlfriend Carla. So, Friday night we toured Bob's collection of cool old cars, muscle cars, drag cars, g***ers, and kustoms including his favorites that are not on public display. Afterwards, Carla fed us a great home cooked meal of a Wisconsin fish fry and potato pancakes along with a ton of other stuff. Here are some of my photos from Friday. <center>

the Kent's Big Bar ice cream people (Tom and Kathy) had 3 trailers set up selling ice cream and were busy. They make these by hand and sell them themselves. Very good quality. <center>

Thanks for posting. I took my son to that swap about ten years ago. It was his first major swap meet. We had a great time. Looks like you had a lot better weather than we did. Seeing your pics makes me think I need to go back next year.

Saturday was rainy and muddy. I didn't take any photos. I mostly hung out with Bob in the car corral. I had a great time just relaxing and visiting. I had a good visit with my pal Mark ---Wingnutz from WI today too. I had wanted to meet up with Touchdowntodd but never found him.

I only bought some wide five wheels and a nice little car. Lawrence and Larry bought a few things.

Saturday night we went to visit Bob's good friend (and mine--Jim Koch) who has a real bad*** Henry J g***er and the coolest Barracuda drag car. I bought a replica board track racer bike from him too while we were there. I also got a nice 283 engine from Bob.

Then Saturday night we came back to Bob and Carla's where she was waiting for us with hot homemade pizza (fabulous) and cold beer. She made us sandwiches, cookies, and brownies too to eat at the swap meet. She and Bob are great hosts and I want to thank them very much for putting up with us in this very busy weekend.

We are heading back to KS on Sunday and had a great time. Will be coming back north in June for the Back to the 50's show in St. Paul, MN. Hope to see more friends there.

You were at our spot and I missed you. The 1st pick of the Pontiac go cart body is our space. That is my dad (Dad on the hamb) sitting by the motorhome. I was only there on friday. I had something being delivered on saturday morning so I had to be back.

Sooner or later I will get to meet you. I missed you at Iola too. I guess I will have to come out to one of your swaps. lol

Friday was too short of a day for me. I had other commitments and had to head out early.

I did score a slot machine, a pinball machine, and a Pines winter front before I had to leave though! It was the first time in years that I actually bought much of anything at Jefferson.

Good to see you Stick Shift! Hopefully we'll see you, and others, next weekend at Torquefest!

  29. Paul, looks like a great time! I cant believe thats all you bought. I would love to see Bobwops collection too. Sounds like he is another super HAMB guy, would like to meet him sometime. I have a friend that used to go to that meet, he would go for the ice cream mostly, it was to die for he indicated. Thanks for posting the great pics once again.

  30. Thanks for sharing. I also enjoyed looking at the picture of that stock car. How much was it going for. My uncle used to race a '70 Monte done up ecactly like it.
